In the conference gotta be Houston/Grove, otherwise the obvious (to me) is Lebanon at Camdenton. Have at it folks!
Houston at Grove
Liberty at Salem
Thayer at Willow
Ava at Cabool
Reeds Spring vs Rogersville
Lebanon at Camdenton
Central at Buffalo
Ozark at Branson

Houston and Grove without a doubt. If Grove can't stop the run it could be a long night. Many say this is Houstons first real test. Best game in the SCA this week.

I think Grove v Houston is likely the SCA GoW. Won't be surprised if one of the other 3 out of conference games is that GoW but Lebanon is better than Camdenton. They are faster, stronger and more focused than Cam. Is that enough to win at Camdenton, remains to be seen.

From what little I’ve seen and heard. That are an old school line it up and run it down your throat. I’m not even slightly convinced that they can line it up and score at a fast enough pace. Our passing game should give them absolute fits. While it’s game of the week since they are undefeated. I don’t see this game being that close. Ima say Grove by 21. But on a weird 1pm game on a Friday anything can happen.

Unless Grove loses 5-6 starters between now and Friday this is not going to be a close game.

Houston is a multi-formational they Line up a lot in THE Full house T,Power T,Dead T,Bay City T or Olivet T same scheme different nomenclature for it and out of it they run Double Iso, trap, QB Read/Veer power toss, criss cross, counter and a few other plays. Then they will Also line up in split back Veer run a few of the same plays, and then go Gun-T running Double G out of it and Draw. Jet and a few other plays as well, along with a few spread sets they also break into.
Houston's QB #15 can run and throw accurate and smooth runner, #22 Carroll a 200lb big quick power back is a load, #33 is a nice back as well also runs hard and can be shifty, #5 is a Solid and Quick WR. The OL is big and aggressive.. do they have a Ripko or Pruett, Vaughn or Glen or a healthy Hunter Adams? Nope but they have weapons and a Grinding hard to defend scheme that can eat up the Clock and churn yardage and control field position.
Defensively They are Solid and play the run well, and coverage wise they like to keep the ball in front of them and rally to make tackles which they do well. They mix up coverage from 1 high to 2 high with minimal man to keep a QB guessing, and in truth I think Brookshire is one of the best DC in the SCA.
So I don't think Grove will have a easy contest my any means.
I know Houston will be dialed in for this game and focused to the max. They was dialed in and Focused in the preseason as the Jamboree and Brought that to the gridiron. If we over look them or play unfocused then we will get beat no doubt!!
Houston was choose for this afternoon game because everyone new this was Houston's best team in years and that it had the Makings of being a Epic contest.

Heard that a lot of Houston fans are raising Heck about the game time? The Game time was set back in March and has been public and known since that time. Word on the street is they think the game was moved so they couldn't get fans to the game as opposed to the reason being that it allowed us to bus over the elementary kids and middle school kids to watch a home game. Sort of strange that Houston fans are just now aware that the game time has been set for 8 months!! Maybe they should invest more time in knowing their schedule and the times of their games and less time calling and griping about it.

To be fair MGHS most of the ones whining didn’t go to any games the last handful of games. Amazing the people that bleed red and black when they are 7-0

Good point…. Fans from both sides should embrace such a neat affair not be negative Nannie’s and hate on it.

Anyone know if there will be a live stream? It’s live on the Houston Herald website and I believe it’ll also be live on the MGPantherSports Facebook page.

It was very cool seeing all the kids everywhere. Houston has a good crowd also. And seeing 7-0 go down was pretty fun also.

Gotta say our defense shut down Houston offense, there lone TD was a pass to a completely uncovered WR a defensive Faux pas Other than that the Red tigers couldn’t mount a drive.
Our offense played well on a windy day. Only negative to many yellow flags.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say we had as many penalty yards as Houston had total offense. I went back and watched that play. Not a single player even looked towards that sideline. And didn’t look like the coaches seen it either. Very well played on their part. In a close game that would have been huge.
