I’ve been with Coach B for near 20 years and Tue night he told be he was gonna resign Today needless to say it was a sad message on are near nightly phone calls.
He saw MG through some dark times and built a very competitive program.
He was willing to learn on the job even though the talent was thin in his early years because he was a True Panther to the core.
He will be missed
But he will still be around as the AD to help transition in a new Panther HC.

Shocked!! 4 straight runs to district championship game. Did his best coaching job with last year's team. NOBODY thought we would be competitive. 8-4 and playing great at end of season..if not for injuries I think we would have won the District.

Will definitely be missed. New Coach is gonna have a pretty bright Future ahead of him.

Anyone on staff that will get a shot? Or will the search be on? From the outside looking it, sure seems like he did a heck of a job. I have enjoyed the limited conversations I have had, he has been very easy to work with on the occasions I have ventured that way.

I would guess Coach Swofford is at the top of the list. I cant see him leaving Evangel for his sons Senior year, unless his son isnt playing next year. Swofford has had his name on every coaching search we have had since Ary left. not sure why his name is always mentioned. If he wanted to come home he would have long before now |

With that super class coming up I figured he'd stay. But he has coached long enough that he may be ready for a break. That job should be appealing to anyone wanting it for sure

I would guess Coach Swofford is at the top of the list. I cant see him leaving Evangel for his sons Senior year, unless his son isnt playing next year. Swofford has had his name on every coaching search we have had since Ary left. not sure why his name is always mentioned. If he wanted to come home he would have long before now You maybe right. But I have heard his son is done at Evangel and he has made it known that he was really wanting to get back to the high school game. Now that is all hearsay, so again you maybe right. I'd say Swofford if interested which I've heard that he might be then no Doubt he is the Top choice at this point in possible hires. Guy has won Conference titles. Won District titles, got a Public School State title versus a Mercenary outlaw private football factory. Been a college Coach. He is from Grove so what is not to like?? Nothing from my way of thinking, but there is always some outlier people who would find something to not like cause they just can't be happy!!!! Give them Gold Cuff links and they want Platinum!!!
But we are along way off at this point from his hire I suspect. The job hasn't even been posted yet. Then others have the right to apply as well. Maybe Saban does want to drive a dagger in Dew's heart and come Coach at Grove in 24!!! I bet Saban Drives a Ford too DEW!!

Unlike other teachers who are currently employed, they can accept the job without repercussion. If Swofford takes it, then Evangel lets him go so they can replace him. |
