How in the world does Liberty lose to Houston?
How does the SCA champ Ava give up 30+ points to Willow?

In Liberty's case there was a lot of penalties, turnovers, especially in crucial times of the game. We have a tendency to fall for the trap game at least once a year. Unlike other years, we cannot rely on our raw talent to pull through. We've had a real problem winning close games. We should have never let it get to that. Credit to Houston, they played with passion whereas we did not. I'm hoping its somewhat of a wake up call. I really thought the boys had played well the second half of the season...and then this.

at the very least the top 2 teams in the district have some major flaws heading into the most important time of the season. This time last week I would have guaranteed Ava and Liberty would be battling for the championship. now not so sure. Looking at East Newtons schedule they are a team people better not overlook.

Ava D doesn’t look very good. Willow isn’t any good In the last 2 weeks Willow has tied the most points this season Thayer has allowed (20) and scored the most points Ava has allowed (32, the closest was 26 by Hallsville who is in the mention of being in the state polls). Willow finished 4th in the SCA, which is above 3 other teams. Is Willow stellar? Not by a long shot - but not any good??? |

Stupid thread in my opinion.One point I will gladly give up on the pickum with Houston winning.Ava just played a lazy game.Liberty just thought they would win,Houston is a team on a mission.

Yep,your right.Bad response to a legitimate question.I watched the Liberty-Houston game and 1 thing I can say is this."Penalties ".2 TD's called back on holding calls.2nd and goal and the snap over the qb's head. So right there is the ball game.Not to mention the defense could not stop the run the second half.Plus Houston is trying to make a turnaround like Liberty has.Ava and Willow,Willow is not a down team.Ava got lazy and Willow played like they are capable of playing |

i was more surprised by the lack of a running game by Thayer. The QB played lights out, but other then him I didn't come away impressed at all.

Legit questions.. not so easy answers other than.. Its High School Football and you never know when you are throwing 15,16,17, and 18 year old kids out there...

Houston Coach finally figure it out and Dropped the spread and moved to a power T formation that fit his personal better. WS coach made a good choice going to the Shotgun wing-t/pistol gun and running the ball more often than not as well. Both moves improved those teams a lot..if the both still ran a Spread pass heavy offense they would of had a lot less success. |

Have to take your hat off to Willow. Quite the run in districts this year to take out Strafford and Liberty. Ava better not overlook them.

If that's awful then I can accept awful |

Haven't saw a season go this well for the bears In a long time. Congrats to all involved that supported the program this year! |
