Post your thoughts on what you think will be the game of the week. This should be the game that will have the closest score and I will need that predicted score on your picks. Another way to score on this is to pick an upset. For instance if we see a week that looks like all lopsided scores, and you pick an upset and it happens, that game may turn into the game of the week. The game of the week picks DO NOT have to be an SCA game, just those that MoSooner posts on his pickem contest. Remember to be eligible for the prizes at the end of the season you MUST post in this contest 25 times between now and end of the regular season (every week through week 9). Good luck all.
From MoSooner's pickem game - Ava at Buffalo
Grove vs Fair Grove
Willow @clever
Liberty vs Strafford
Thayer vs Hayti
Cabool vs Miller
Salem vs St James
Houston at Sarcoxie
Reeds Spring vs East Newton
Lamar at Catholic

Bearup the last 2 years that game has proven to be a dandy, and you have a great case there. Cabool-Miller also looks intrguing to me but to be different and keep discussion going I am going to pick Houston/Sarcoxie. Houston had a ton of injuries last year but still beat Sarcoxie 24-16. Sarcoxie returns 11 seniors if I read right and Houston will have some of these injured linemen back from last year's unfortunate Hiatus.
Houston by last year's score 24-16.

Game of the week will be Cabool vs Miller. I think Cabool wins 29-27.
I think Catholic could upset Lamar, 35 - 34.

There are two games that are really intriguing to me, and both are previously mentioned. However, my reasoning might be a little different.
Ava vs Buffalo- This one is interesting because both teams are coming off recent success but are both trying to reload. I think it is safe to say that both are locked into their philosophy, which team will have the new personnel to step in and get the job done, like their predecessors?
Lamar at Catholic- The unknown is huge in this one. Both teams are under new leaders. How much different will they be? The Flexbone is gone at Catholic and the defense has changed as well. Not sure how much different Lamar will be, but from seeing the Jamboree, some offensive changes, although not as big, have taken place there as well.
Since Dew said to pick one.. I will go with Ava over Buffalo 33-24 as my Game of the Week

Lamar will be interesting to see this year. Last year was the most points a Lamar defense gave up in several years (16.0 points a game). I went to the soap scrimmage and watched the jamboree online. Webb City varsity and JV each scored one touchdown during the jamboree. Lamar varsity did not score but had the ball inside the 5 yard line when the 12 plays were over and the JV inside the 10 yard line. This year it looks like Lamar will be using one QB, but will still be run heavy on offense.
