Lamar was starting out last year with almost all new starters at almost all positions. Then this which all teams delt with but COVID restrictions and weights were all over the place. Those sophomores took awhile to gel. We didn’t have much expectations last year until after week 5, where in week 4 we beat Nevada. We showed life. The boys got better and better as the year went along. That sophomore class which hadn’t lost but a game through middle school showed what they did in middle school. That’s the story behind last year. Yes, they are better then last year. Lamar isn’t as big as they used to be. But no one in class 2 has the athleticism and speed Lamar does. The line is those things on both sides of the ball. They still run 70/30. But it’s different. We rushed for over 500 yards last week, I’d bet we get around that this week as well. Just being honest. You asked. We played Reeds Spring in week 2 last year. I’d say Reeds is better then last year as well. I just seeing it being more of a blowout. Caden Weist will get his like he will against everyone this year. But it won’t make a difference overall. I appreciate your information. You make some good points. Like I said, I think Lamar wins but I was expecting a closer game. I have a couple good friends on the wolves coaching staff so maybe it’s just me be hopeful for them. To be honest, I didn’t expect last years game to be close so since I thought this years would be close, Lamar probably wins in a blow out. No problem. I just notice a lot of assumptions about Lamar. But I get it. If a team I didn’t have ties to won all the time. Let’s be real most of the SCA that’s been in class 2 would probably have titles if it weren’t for Lamar and I saw them seemingly down I’d be all about that. I’d be a liar if I said I wouldn’t be. I think the Wolves look solid. Weist is a beast. I don’t mean any of that that I’ve said to be dismissive.

While I agree, you have to make Lamar the favorite, lets not forget that not only was the game close last year, The Wolves led most of it and only two dropped snaps on punts, that gave Lamar short fields just before half and in the fourth quarter prevented the Wolves from picking up the W. It was a crazy physical game that both teams felt for a couple of weeks. Does Lamar win? Very good chance. But to say its an automatic loss shows a whole lot more arrogance that I remember the very humble folks of Lamar having... we will see. Looking forward to it. I have said before how much I enjoyed visiting with Lamar fans last year and looking forward to them being at our place tonight...

I have said before how much I enjoyed visiting with Lamar fans last year and looking forward to them being at our place tonight... First off, I know you are involved with Reeds Spring radio. So as a professional I don’t appreciate you sinking to the level of assuming arrogance or being overly confident, I explained my reasoning why I thought what I did. Obviously one fan who could’ve been slightly more controlled on wording or phrasing doesn’t speak for everyone. I guess that Reeds Spring father I saw cussing at refs then speaks for all Reeds Springs fans? That don’t make sense does it? Be better.

I apologize if my wording was misconstrued at all. The only thing I took exception with was that saying in advance that thinking RS had a chance to win was an automatic L. There is no doubt that Lamar should have been a favorite going into the game. I tried to say that your wording went against what I believed that most Lamar fans say, at least publicly. In no way did i think anything negatively about the fine folks that support the Tigers. I again had great visits with folks from your town. And to be honest I have no problem with you. Your wording basically called my guys out and I defended them..... as far as I am concerned we all good now. I truly hope your guys run the table. Coach Beshore and his boys are a complete class act and will be happy for them if they get to hold up Trophy #9. I do wish you would have come up to the press box... would love to have met you. Hope this tiny disagreement didnt keep you from coming up.
As for the RS fan you alluded to... sorry about that... we have a few of those., just like everyone.
