If FG is going to get a win I'd say this might be the year.....but it will be tough to get over the hump against a Lamar squad.

Can we skip to the Lamar vs Ava game? Districts aligned this way are so boring. Im sure Lamar will come out on top. But FG could give them a game. but yeah, the sca class 2 district this year is trash. Would have loved to have seen an Ava Grove rematch Nah. This is FG no matter what they do, they are who they are. A overrated team. Bizarre mind you. I’ve never understood the MO HS football ranking formula. It’s mostly a groups opinions. But the weird infatuation with FG is weird. They are who they always are. A class 2 school that can pass with a severely lacking schedule, and don’t play anyone who can expose them until districts. The SCA and Big 8 (Lamar mostly obviously) expose them every year. Yes, LMV and Lamar and Ava are good or great teams each year they play them. More times then not they get spanked, especially against Lamar. There’s about 5 teams deserving of a top 4 spot. Not FG. It always leaves the impression they will give Lamar a game. In 2019 (the last time they played)it was rainy, Lamar had a big player and a lineman out, and played bad on offense for a quarter, and still won by 25. I’d say 2018/2019 were Lamar’s worst teams since 2010. By far too. Ava would pound them to mind you. They almost lost to Skyline, that doesn’t bode well for competing with Lamar. |

There’s 2-3 teams I can see a world where they beat them. Richmond, Duchesne, and maybe Butler. I’ve seen them play twice this year. I have family in the area, wanted to see the hype. Even I thought maybe it was different this year around week 5. It’s not. A few bigger lineman for them. The QB is slightly better then usual. That’s it. |

FG just does not see that physicality. Assuming they get to Lamar, it will be another TURBO.

Thayer.... I think they have already scored twice (and the game does not start for another 33 hours)
Ash Grove ... will be a good game but they win it at home
Forsyth.... Panthers get the bone going
Liberty..... just too much
Grove... playing their best at the right time
Priory... game is not until Saturday
RS... everything points to Hollister but I will still pick my guys
Seneca... Buffalo has not played anywhere near the schedule

We move to week 10. All games from here on out are worth 2 pts. The SCA vs SCA rule still applies, so any conference head to head matchup will be worth 4 Miller @ Thayer Cabool @ Ash Grove Houston @ Forsyth Willow @ Liberty Grove vs Cassville Salem @ Priory Reeds Spring @ Hollister Buffalo @ Seneca Can I play? Thayer- I dont think Miller is very good. What a difference a couple of years made Ash Grove- Cabool is a hard team to judge Forsyth- the Central loss surprised me Liberty- Willow Springs will be tough in a couple of years Grove- Cassville of old would roll in this game. This bunch is nothing like that, at all Salem- just because I dont like St Louis schools Hollister- Reeds Spring is still missing two of there three best players Seneca- Bison play down because they cant compete with teams like this |
