When a field has all the seating on one side, I notice some schools have the visiting team nearest the stands (which is how we do it in Ava), but some have the home team there.
Does this just come down the home school's choice? Tradition? Coin flip? Some sort of weird MSHSAA rule? Reverse alphabetical order?

As far as I know it’s the home school’s choice.

There is/was a little known rule in the book that states that if stands are only on one side the visitors can actually request to be on the side away from the crowd. Now, unless its just a gesture of gamesmanship, I can't imagine anyone actually doing it though.

Grove is on the east side per tradition …it has been discussed in past that a side switch might be warranted mostly cause of the sun but tradition won out. I’d didn’t know there was a rule visitors got a choice.
