How is the JV squads of everyone doing? I know our JV squad is solid and average. But we are winning games with that said. Just curious in how everyone feels about the status of their programs future.

From what I heard your jv blew the light bulbs off the scoreboard last night. Having said that we have an all freshman jv who is going to be an all sophomore varsity next year . Willow is 0-3 with losses to Houston (I think all freshmen) by 2 and Cabool by 2 along with the Grove blowout.

Do you still have 45 8th grade players like last year? and no folks that's not an exaggeration its a handful less, but yes its massive. we had 20+ playing bball. Largest class in MG History. each year a Teacher has to be added to accommodate. My Oldest daughter is in that class.

In truth Dew your JV is real real lackluster, we kneeled down to keep from scoring in the first half, our squad is freshman and soph. as well. And as I said our JV is solid but not even close to one of our best.
Coach Payne is in for a long haul rebuild I hope that the WS faithful is patient. Cause the upcoming talent is thin, unless there are some kids walking the halls who can be persuaded to come out and contribute.
Our 8th grade is loaded but as always will they all stay out and continue to improve? If they do they can be a real good one. The 7th grade is solid with some good LOS players and a few skills.
I know that Thayer cancelled their JV game with Salem do to lack of numbers as they are ultra thin and playing a Freshmen at QB,Safety, NG,OG and a few other positions here and there not to mention the soph. they also field.

Stop making excuses. Everyone's JV is full of freshman at this size of schools.
Your team is just not very good and the future is not very bright. But I am sure in a year or so you guys will be ready to run this guy out of town just like the guy who got you to a district championship while beating Grove and Liberty in the first time in years. Yet a few months later you all were whining and moaning about him.
It has been the same story since Ary left. Rinse and repeat.

Well let's see. Thayer has 28 out I think k. 4 or 5 Seniors, not sure. Know we have not had a jv game this year. So you beat Thayer your beating our jv. We have in the past, just not this year. Would be great if we could field jv,freshman or any of the other teams.

Every squad in the SCA has been in Thayer's shoe's fielding a JV squad that is playing a Varsity schedule. Just a few short years ago when Grove went O'fer we played 4 SR's and everyone else was under classmen and the above average Talent was Soph. and Freshmen. Those Freshmen are now Seniors.
Thayer has 7 seniors according to the on line roster from MSHSAA....I think though that watching the Salem V Thayer game that the Senior that played the most where Komm,Mills,Cates, and Rogers. I believe Bigger is injured also a senior, Sorrell/Gorham both SR played very little. Then the rest of the squad was JR Gonzales,Spencer,Paulette, after that it was FR/Soph. filling in and most everyone is playing both ways.
There is talent on the Roster #53 Dubois a FR is a stud, Harris showed some Grit as a FR QB vs Salem, but having so few players out and such small classes is a tough hill to climb.
