I dont know how to address this but seeing an issue this year that I don't like, and it's not just at Willow. WHERE THE HELL ARE THE TRAINERS? Where are the medical volunteers? How many schools are without one this year??
Salem, according to word of mouth, had a kid hurt and laying behind the sidelines, nobody tending to him and was holding his side. The coaches have to focus on other things. Someone called the paramedics over to look at him and things went from there.
We have had a kid put his own shoulder back in place - TWICE!
We had a player tonight, glad he was ok, roll an ankle and had to have help to the sideline.
I have heard of instances elsewhere via fb messenger that could go on and on.
I am not calling out the Doctors who have spent 40 plus years doing this because they deserve to retire and have a break. I am being told most schools didn't get grant money this year to keep trainers around. Seriously?? Does anyone not volunteer for our schools for these kids? ANYONE?? I am pretty sure that our Dr who retired never charged a dime for his services, other than getting an SCA pass to get into games. I am sure Cabool's Dr is the same way and many others all over.
WHYYY is it hard to be a volunteer in this field and help out? When is it going to take some attention getting of a kid getting seriously hurt and nobody available?
I may be barking up the wrong tree here I don't know, but I've seen enough this year for everyone not just us. Something gotta be fixed in this dept.
