I know most of you like to give coach of the year to the conference champion and most of the time deservedly so. This may be too early to mention this but I believe someone on the Houston coaching staff should be considered. They are going to finish anywhere from 7-2 to 9-0. Most, including myself didn't see them getting past 2-3 wins this year and they have sure surpassed that. And yeah I know they've had some breaks their way and even strength of schedule but even teams that win on a constant basis get those. I know it's voted on by the coaches and our say won't count. But interested in your thoughts agree or disagree

Not sure how MV coach don’t get it. 9-0 and top seed in district. Houston is going to drop the next 2 and be in 3rd in districts

I'd say T.Payne has over reached what almost everyone in the conference thought WS would accomplish as most people saw WS as the worst team or the next to he worst team in the SCA. Most people picked Houston with all those seniors to be behind MV, Ava and Grove at 4th. Ending up 2nd or 3rd is not much of a over reach IMO.

If Liberty goes 9-0 its Coach K If Houston goes 9-0 it's Coach Sloan

That's probably correct...although the voting doesn't happen till after the last SCA team is eliminated from the playoffs. That sometimes has a bearing in the votes.

If Liberty can beat Lamar or whatever team comes out of that area K gets it. Otherwise, Sloan gets it. Since it's voted on by peers, I think they like to reward their bros when they can. Like when Liberty went from 2-8 to 8-2 from 07 to 08 they gave Acklin the award even though Grove was the definitive best team in the conf that year.

I would be hard pressed not to give it to Houston. No matter how the next two weeks go, What a turnaround. I know that some leagues almost automatically give it to the coach that wins the league, but not sure that should always be the case.

Houston not being competitive against the top 2 teams is not gonna win awards. Let’s not forget they barely got past an Ava team that was running their 4th string RB and a Willow team that’s improved, but not in the good team column. Unless they upset View and make a run to the district Title game
