Less games = less experience for the kids = even less recruiting from this state than we see now, which isn't really much

Recruiting is the least of the worries with this. The state is recruited like any other place. Where there is talent people will be found.
This is about the state doing something really stupid. Like including a meaningless week 10 game after a team has already lost a district game and their season is already over. Sounds like a brilliant idea. Play a game no one cares about so that the state games can be over with by Thanksgiving.
How about taking a week off the crazy long basketball season instead?

so starting week 9 accomplishes what? just eliminate a game? I would rather bump basketball back another week or 2.

I saw that seems stupid as heck if that is how it shakes out. If that is the plan clearly the people in charge and the people who came up with this idea are stupid and don’t understand human nature.

my understanding is this would still take a vote of the whole membership to become reality. Just dont see it happening. why shorten the season?.. No need to finish Thanksgiving weekend... and if they are so adamant about doing that, lets just start a week earlier.... Dont know why we have such a sentiment to have to protect basketball in this state..
