Always counting down to Week 1. Could see a lot of changes with Classes and Districts this year. So much is dependent on what they do with Class 1. (and how many end up playing 8-man.) But there is a good chance that if your enrollment was near the top of Class 2, you will be Class 3 this coming year. (same with some of the other classes)
Will be interested in how Districts shake out : Mt Vernon, Seneca, Ava, Hollister, and Grove could all easily move up. Willow, would be less likely but not impossible.

I could see all those teams moving up... we just dropped down from C3 to C2 a change up could move us back up our last enrollment numbers for the move down was 333....Ava-343, Hollister-340, Mt.V-350, Seneca-355 and WS- 302.
I will admit I'm surprised at Hollister a bedroom community of Branson only having 340 students. I know rural communities are shrinking. We have way less students than back in the 80's per class.

Don't want to start a debate on the subject itself, but curious as to how many kids being homeschooled are having an effect on enrollments as well?

That will jump you in 2024 for sure... but good chance you go up this year anyway, so it wont make a big difference, I dont think.

As it stands now it is all based on your spring 9th - 11th grade enrollment numbers that are reported to MSHSAA

mosooner (or anyone else) can you give a brief recap of what the possibilities are for class 1 this coming year? I remember reading something about it on MO Sports but cant seem to find it. Also, is this cap thing for class 1 going to just be a football thing or is it going to be something that impacts basketball, baseball, and other sports?
Thanks

Your schools funding is based off of what you turn in. What I meant was so many families are keeping their kids homeschooled or going to these new christian schools (2 in Howell County I know of, a 3rd one is forming. The one in West Plains has moved locations due to growth). Is that helping decrease the populations in schools all across along with our towns seem to be getting smaller? And at one time Willow was about to C3 with Grove and Ava, now who knows.

Your schools funding is based off of what you turn in. I thought that had changed. Back when the numbers were reported in the fall, everything went by the DESE numbers. When they changed to only counting 9-11 and reporting in the Spring, I thought numbers were reported to MSHSAA. You have to explain if the numbers are different from the DESE numbers, but I was led to believe that is the case.

Well I know that from when my son started at Lighthouse they had 26 varsity players and that was it, and now as of last week I hear they have 50+ varsity players, at least 30 j.v., and even 30+ on a freshman squad.
