2 had to go... they went with the northern two ( Clever and Buffalo) instead of the southern two ( Reeds Spring and Hollister)

Yes two had to go but Clever and Buffalo are in two separate conferences as his Eldon and St.James. Makes logical sense to put the left overs in with the SCA. Distance wise it also makes perfect sense.
RS/Hollister are in a district with their conference mates and driving is more logistical for that district of teams.
I guess I can see your point if your of a mindset to try and orchestrate a roster of teams in a district to provide a situation where teams rise to their highest potential in some form of social engineering to make sure one district isn't loaded with better teams and another is littered with lesser teams. It seems today so many sports fans desire some cherry picking system that is conducive to that outcome, they think that should happen to insure every team is advancing as far as possible based on their so called talent.
Side rant coming but related some what to the discussion I think. I've seen a debate similar to this made a lot by some who want to regulate the districts as I said to insure what they think are balanced districts.
I find it laughable about how many people get up in arms about well if so and so team would of been in this district they would of made it to the district finals, quarters or semi-finals before this or that team crushed them or beat them.... Really does that matter? And can that really be proven unless those teams actually play from the opposite districts? Nope. In the end the Best team usually takes home the Hardware..... Districts should be based on regionality, games played on the field and winners advance. If a loaded district eliminates a few teams earlier than the average fan thinks should happen so be it, it doesn't really matter in the end cause the best team wins. Besides it's pure human hubris to think that we can know who the best teams are and who the weaker teams are and then form district based on these assumptions before the season even starts.

we actually agree on most of it. Yes, one district looks to be quite a bit tougher than the other, but mine is more about playing the same teams in the season and immediately turning around and playing them again in Districts. Yes, I know other sports to it, but football is a little different.

Only 36 Class 1 football teams so they created four 9-team districts? If you win districts the next game will be semifinals if I understand correctly.

Yes, I know other sports to it, but football is a little different. That’s a valid point but it’s happens in football a lot as well. We have had to play Ava twice and MV twice in a season come the playoffs and it sucks having to try and beat a team twice but on the Flip side it makes for some intriguing scenarios. It’s just the nature of the beast …I’m sure Seneca wasn’t to fond of facing Lamar again last year while Lamar was Jacked up for some revenge.
