Thank you for those. I was in a foreign country last night (Arkansas) and didn't get scores posted. Did see Mtn Home and Coach Ary break a 11 year streak to Harrison with about 5,000 people there ...

Amazing the number of Willow "supporters" that end up in Arkansas and at West Plains games. As I have said before there is a deeper problem at Willow.
Liberty has been shoved around by 2 way more physical teams. That has to change going forward. You can have a great QB but if you can't block and tackle then it won't matter. I have faith that Lil Ack will get the situation righted. They will be a team people dont want to see come district time.
Ava is the class of the conference right now. The conference as a whole is way down.

I make 1 trip a year to see coach Ary and this one was it. Only 1 other willow alum was there to my knowledge. You are welcome to come if you want.
And yes the sca as a whole has a lot of work to do. But you only fire shots at 1 school. Get out of your mom's basement, quit trolling us and get a life. I've had a very long rough year with family losses and family with cancer, and I'm trying to enjoy something here no matter how bad it goes. I'm tired of your bs and I don't have time for it. Go troll someone else

I dont think you understand what a troll is and in fact you display more troll like qualities by saying to get out of my moms basement and by calling me a troll. But it is ok, I understand the mentality. I have seen it for years with my own family and coworkers from willow. The mentality is engrained deep. You guys dont like the truth. You spout off about supporting the kids and even calling out the school and parents for not getting kids to come out and play and then your actions speak louder than your words. You guys are consumed with the past and the handful of glory years that are never coming back.
I am glad to support a community that really understands a football culture. We are not perfect and this season has shown we are not always as good as we want to be. But we understand how things work and what is needed to get things changed. We remember the years we were the doormat for all the schools and we worked past all that. I would love to see Willow be able to do that because it would be actually fun to have both schools good at the same time. But until you guys make some drastic changes it will never happen. Sadly it appears that Salem is right in this same boat as well. I will try to take some more shots at them. But I don't have as personal view of them as I do for Willow.

I like Coach Ary as well as anyone... but I will say this I'm not going to Miss a Grove Game no matter how bad we are to go see our Former Coach do his thing. I wish him well. Dew you can do what ever you want come Friday night, it's Still America and they haven't banned travel yet, but as one of the Biggest Supporters of WS football I will say I was shocked to hear you bailed on a WS Friday night yearly to go watch Coach Ary! If that makes you happy you should keep up the tradition. But I really can't fathom that at all. I've not missed a Grove game since 1988..... I do think that sort of shows the difference in the level of Attitude between some communities and others. I'm not trying to shame you from keeping up your tradition but when I think WS football I think of YOU as the Main banner carrier through the tough times. And when I read you went on a annual pilgrimage to see coach Ary it was very very shocking.
I also hate that you have had family issues and painful losses and turmoil, I hope everything is OK and Works out God Bless on that front.

The conference as a whole is way down. Honest Question after watching Strafford and Adrian play where they more physical as teams because they had more physically gifted players up front and at some skills? Or do you think it is effort and a lack of being physical mind set wise, is that the issue? After watching Strafford versus Ava the Indians had some Nice physical LOS players no doubt. Their OC couldn't snap to save his baby sisters life vs Ava, but they appear to have a physical advantage over MV trench player wise across the board and some Athletes to boot. Same as Adrian they are big up front and thick at the skills as well. And in the Past MV has had a Plethora of Skill guys to offset any deficiencies up front versus Teams who had Some Trench studs. But this year reminds me more of 2021 when MV had Pruett on the Sideline injured and Ripko was the only Dude and teams could compete. I know come conference play that MV will be a load in the SCA because they are not unphysical upfront very solid and MV has Pruett. Outside of AVA and Thayer MV will be equal to or better on the LOS to most of the teams and having Pruitt as the Best Athlete on the field will make for a lot of W's.

I think it is a combination of both. There are some growing pains in this transition to a new coach even one that everyone knows. Adrian was way bigger and better than I expected. They are going to have another really good year. You could tell they thought they were going to win from the jump and did not panic when they got down.

Yes Adrian will have a dang good year. And people in View land need to be patient. It's a process.

I also hate that you have had family issues and painful losses and turmoil, I hope everything is OK and Works out God Bless on that front. Guys my loyalty hasn't changed after 35 years. Had Willow been at home, no matter the score I'd gone to Mtn. Home some other time. There are many folks who go to other's games if their team is on a road trip somewhere. I've been to Marionville just not this round. I've gone as far as Pittsburg, KS for the Bears. You all gotta remember that he was a part of Willow from 1987-2004, and he still checks on us any time he is around. There have been those nights that the Bombers didn't have a game and he's been in one of 3 places he's coached (if one has played on a Thursday for instance). If I was to abandon the Bears for winning teams, then I'd left in 2004. I've dealt with non-successes now for 19 years and I'm STILL HERE. I also told the coaches during the summer I was planning this trip and they didn't shun me. They simply said "we'll see you at the next one, tell Steve hey". And you're right it's still America and I can go where I dang well please. I just simply went to support a man who has been there for us. I've also gone to other team's games to support the conference. Jordanearl and I have sat together a few times at Grove games, Bobcat61 at Thayer, BulldogDad at Cabool, Eagletimer at Liberty, all since 2006 when I joined the old forum. I've also been to basketball games for relatives/friends in Bakersfield, Kosh, Liberty, and West Plains. I'll be in both West Plains girls basketball games (family playing though I'm definitely not a ziz.. one of those...), and I also promised Eagletimer's daughter I'll make some games for her senior year this year. So if anyone wants to call me out for that, there ya go you now have me stalked on what I'm doing. My loyalties haven't changed. But those who truly know me know it's about the kids and supporting those who have been friends to me. And thanks for the sympathies for me and my family. 2023 can burn with satan....

You just don't get it. And this is not just about you and your trip. This is much deeper and broader than just you. You and I both know that as this season goes on there will be more and more Willow people down at West Plains for their games. Heck your old Sup was at West Plains game one year on a night when your boys played. I mean come on! It is about the entire culture of the town. With your words you support the team, but your actions show something else. No one is criticizing you for being a good friend and supporting people. This is not what that is about. Before long this will start to turn on the new head coach. It will be his fault. Just like with the 6 or 7 other guys who have been there since the glory days. Rinse and repeat. You know the old definition of insanity, keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I actually had someone tell me things will turn around now that they got a new weight room. Now that is nice and all, but again that is missing the real issue. It is like remodeling the kitchen on the titanic.
