Been a lot of talk on here about how Grove needs to be balanced and throw the ball more to beat AVA. Which I totally disagree with because our chances/odds of completing and having success throwing are much less than for us to try to employ our gap scheme and get a extra hat to the play side and try to get our QB or RB in space after blocking or running off AVA second level defenders. We will pass some but as I said it will be in controlled situations. We cannot afford to give up Pick six's or turn the ball over on a INT that gives Ava good field position and worse yet any points off our offense.
With that Said the Number one Key to our victory is on the opposite side of the Ball. Defensively we cannot give up many points. Realistically against Ava Defense and factoring in our Offensive ability scoring 14 to 21 points is going to be the upper limits of what we can score, unless Ava get's turn over prone or penalty prone. Giving up Big plays on the Edge or up the middle will quickly destroy any chances of a Panther Victory. And the loss of Hook and Arthur will make setting the edge a bit dicey.
The Defense is the Number one Key to this game. We cannot get in a Shootout with them because we do not have the offensive weapons to do so. The Defense has to keep the game close into the 4th qrt and then we have to hope we can break off a nice run or catch with Ava peaking to stop Estep in the run game and run a WR past them or hit them with a rub route or quick inside route off of play action.
Ava Key to winning.... Don't beat themselves. Run their offense and don't panic if Grove get's some defensive stops ,grind on us with your offense. On defense stop our QB and force us into passing situations. Basically do what Ava did in week three! Example We got in red zone ran back out for possible nice play but low throw kills big play potential, then ran inside route LB covers hook zone well pick six!
Grove can win this game without a doubt but we are very much the underkats!! Our margin of error is razor slim and we must play a near perfect clean game to mitigate the Speed and talent advantage Ava has. The team has steadily progressed, taken to the coaching and is improved since week 3. Now we will find out if it's enough to win.
