Welcome to the 2nd half of the football season. The SCA has 6 teams above .500, and that in itself is pretty amazing, even if some of those above .500 have taken a beating or 2. Let's get down to business shall we?
Ava (3-2) (1-2) vs. Houston (1-4,1-2)
Ava got back on the winning track last week vs. Salem while Houston struggled in a mudfest vs. Thayer. This game is on the Hill, and according to the forecast, dry. That should produce less fumbles for Houston, but I still see Ava winning this one 45-6
Thayer (3-2) (2-1) vs. Cabool (0-5) (0-3)
Believe it or not Cabool is 5th in district points despite not winning a game. That is how much that district is in struggle mode. Thayer seems to be back in rhythm now, and Cabool is still searching for something. I see Thayer winning this one and shoot for first in district points (currently #2 behind Ash Grove) 32-12
Willow Springs (3-2) (1-2) vs. Salem (3-2) (1-2)
Both teams started out 3-0, and have had their weaknesses exposed in the last 2 weeks. Football is also a game of momentum and the winner of this game will be the one who finds it the most. I may get rocks thrown at me here, but Salem has lost to 2 good teams, while Willow has lost to the cream of the crop. This is also Homecoming for the Bears, and I will take Willow to get back in the W column 21 to 7
Mtn. Grove (5-0)(3-0) at Liberty (5-0, 3-0)
This boring no good football game aint even worth talking about. I mean, who even cares about this thing right? I even heard they had to BEG KSPR33 to come to this thing, lol. Both teams are loaded with offense and pretty salty on defense. This game will depend on momentum, turnovers, play calling, and all the things of a good football game. I have seen both play and I will tell you all I just really dont know. The only thing that seemed different to me was that Grove was quicker off the line than Liberty who is quick enough. And it may be because Liberty had to play on a wetter field than Grove did when I saw them. But I am going based off that, and a coin flip because Liberty is at home, with Grove in overtime kicking a field goal 24-21
There you have the Dew portion of the review. And now to ET ......
Well here we are Week 6. The 2 powerhouse SCA 5-0 teams get it on in the Game of the week! Let's get it started.
Houston at Ava,,,,Ava blew out Salem last week, Houston fell to Thayer. Again things just don't get easier for the Tigers. On the Hill, Ava 35 Houston 0.
Cabool at Thayer,,,, Battle of 2 class 1 teams,,,Have to like the way the Bobcats have righted the ship. Rough night for the Bulldogs in the Land of the Green River Mist. Bobcats 28 Bulldogs 7.
Salem at Willow,,,, Homecoming is not going to be kind to the Bears. Tigers get right this week. Salem 35 Willow 14
Game of the week.
Grove at Liberty,,,, Two of the SCA's best battle it out at the Nest in the Game of the week. Run versus the pass. Turnovers maybe the key. SCA title on the line. First
place in the District, home field advantage! Should live up to the hype,,, Eagles 35 Panthers 21!!
Week 6 in the books,,as always feel free to discuss! Thank you to all that take the time to read.
