Just wondering if what you guys think on this.
If Grove was still in class 3 would they be playing Monett tonight? Would they be able to win that game? Need some Lamar opinions on this one too. I think they would certainly play with Monett and possibly move on.
What do ya think?

Haven't seen Grove play. Haven't played Grove since, what 2006? I can't remember when that was, but it was long ago. So, wouldn't really know how they stack up against Monett. Didn't Grove play Monett, last year?

I think there is a decent chance that Grove would be playing against Monett tomorrow if they were in that district. We will never know. But from what I have seen from Owensville (I am doing tomorrows game so I have been preparing for the broadcast) I think Grove would take them. Now I also think they would lose to Monett, but that is a whole other story. Since they went to this format District 3 has never beaten District 4 in that game. (some worthless trivia for you there).

I think that Mt. Grove would have been better off to have stayed in Class 3. With Liberty in districts and Lamar in the quarters, Grove would have stood a much better shot at moving on if they were Class 3. Monett played their best game of the year, and Lamar their worst, when they met in week 4. Some of it had to do with Hardman not playing. He is a game changer on both sides of the ball.
As for Monett, I said earlier in the season when they played California, that they had a team that could possibly make it to Springfield. They are versatile, but rely more on the ground game. Branch is a powerful runner. When he wants to play hard, he is a load to bring down. His problem is that he doesn't always play with maximum effort. The last few games, by his rushing totals, he seems to be playing harder. If he continues to play like this, they will be hard to beat. The key is to make them one dimensional. Even then, they are capable of having a big game through the air. Lamar was able to take the run away but, made some coverage errors that allowed Monett to make some big plays through the air. Monett's defense, I have heard they are a little banged up right now.
I think that Monett and Mt. Grove would be a good game. Either team is capable of beating the other. My prediction:
Monett 21 Mt. Grove 20

I watched that Monett/California game as well. Like swmissouritiger said, Branch only runs at maximum speed when he wants to. I wasn't impressed with what I saw, but he did score quite a few times in that game, which isn't saying much. Although not terrible, California was way down this year.
