I have been reading for several years that the "SCA will be down a little this year". I was wondering what it takes for the SCA to be up? The last couple of years they have battled outside the conference really well. Normal have a couple of teams state ranked. That's pretty good for a 8 team conference. The last couple years we were "up" and had a pretty good non conference W-L percentage. Having said that nobody ever gets past the quarterfinals anymore and that will be even harder now due to most of the SCA being stuck in the same dang district, along with Lamar being Lamar. Graduation has hit some schools pretty good and it will determine how the replacements step up according to how the conference does. My case in point is both Grove and Liberty play Aurora who graduated a state semifinal team the year before so on paper it looked like quality games. Aurora was in rebuild mode. This year Grove (linemen) and Liberty (QB, a few skill guys) are replacing key components and Aurora returns some experience. So if Grove and/or Liberty loses to them thats a cycle change in a non-conf opponents favor. Marionville didnt have a single senior on last year's team so they return everyone where Willow lost 6 players (5 starters) from last year. So if we lose that one, and its in Marionville, it wont be a surprise but its still a non-conf loss. I hope I cleared that up a bit instead of mudded it, lol. If we can somehow get someone past quarterfinals then the conference can get a momentum build and get rolling. No matter if its up or down though, a conference game is a conference game and we will have some dandies again this year

1. Ava 2. Grove 3. Liberty 4. Thayer 5. Salem
The last three teams will all be horrible. Could shake out any way.
I will say 6. Houston 7. WS 8. Cabool

Lamar has been a beast for several years. I would say if it was for them Liberty would have a couple of titles. You can say the same with Thayer. Valle is a beast in class 1.

Liberty Grove Ava Thayer Salem Cabool Houston WS MGHS why do you think that Willow goes to the bottom. And I was curious about Liberty at the top. I think that Grove should be in better shape to win the SCA Not a lot of talent....coaching change. Usually a late coaching change doesn't bode well for a program.

From what I've heard, we've had trouble turning the ball over this summer. We won't be winning anything if we can't hold onto the ball.

Ava has the talent to be at the top, but Mtn.View won't give up the top spot easily and Ava travels to Grove. Add in that The Ava boys have not faired well versus either Team the last couple of years and I just am reluctant to put them higher than third.
