This is the points scored and allowed per game for each SCA school. As usual this does not count defense or special teams points as I dont have that info. But it does provide a good indicator as to why teams finished where they did. These are total points for the year, not just in the conference.
POINTS SCORED Ava 371 average 41.2 Liberty 286 avg 31.7 Mtn. Grove 271 avg. 30.1 Thayer 268 avg. 29.7 Salem 176 avg. 19.6 Willow Springs 167 avg. 18.5 Houston 134 avg. 14.9 Cabool 86 avg. 9.6
POINTS ALLOWED Ava 64 avg. 7.1 Salem 151 avg. 16.8 Thayer 175 avg. 19.4 Liberty 230 avg 25.5 Mtn. Grove 272 avg. 30.2 Houston 298 avg. 33.1 Willow Springs 383 avg. 42.5 Cabool 388 avg. 43.1
Average scores per game Ava 41 - 7 Liberty 32 - 26 Mtn. Grove 30 - 30, I guess lots of ties lol Thayer 30 - 19 Salem 20 - 17 Willow Springs 19 - 43 Houston 15 - 33 Cabool 10 - 43
The thing I found for the argument of this being a down year, is that the 2nd best defense in the conference allowed 17 points per game. That will get you beat plenty of times, and this year showed that.

what really tilts the numbers is View and Grove. both teams had night and day differences in each half of the season.

I agree. And before week #7 Houston had 52 points TOTAL. Strength of schedules play a factor, and it also shows that not only was the SCA down, but teams didnt have much depth in key positions.
