If you guys are still going to be "loaded" for awhile, do you think it would help to get either Lutheran North or Trinity on your regular schedule so you can at least have a look at them? I also know that said schools would have to be willing Unfortunately, with the new conference additions, we will have no room for scheduling matchups like you suggested. The trip to Valle Catholic proved to be a neat 2 year deal but a bit of a nightmare with the travel. The same would really hold true for any Lutheran N or Trinity matchup. Fortunately, with the conference adds, we don't have to petition everyone in the state to get games, though. Even with the Valle game, we had a bye week, this year. To tell you the truth, with how our coaching staff prepares the team, I wouldn't want to give them a preview before we had to meet them in the semi's.

I wonder if it will be a sense of relief in some way for Lamar when they do finally get beat? I mean, thats gotta be a whole lot of pressure put on by the community to keep winning. Myself and most of the Lamar fans I know would much rather see the streak end to someone like Mountain View, Lawson, Malden, etc. As others have said, Trinity and LN, are basically all-star teams built from the entire St. Louis metro and if that is what it takes to end the streak so be it. Lamar will prepare and give them everything they have and if that is not enough we will go home and get to work on next year.

It sucks to think that your streak may end to a private school. Hand picking players should be left to the NFL or college or have your own playoff.

Knowing the schools and situations that some of these kids might be coming from it's hard for me to harp on recruiting too much. I can see how year over year this can hurt the competition, I'm sure it has in the past. But this could also be good for Lamar, rally around this whole public vs. private thing and be the face of the publics. Besides, it's not like you've really be challenged much on this run anyway. In the last 7 years you've had like one playoff game within a touchdown.

I will personally root for Lamar any day of the week over a team that was put together by hand to beat them. They have done thing totally the right way. A small community that has totally bought in.... Yes, everyone wants to see the giant knocked off every now and then.. But if its going to be done.. let it be done legitimately

I think that's just a little presumptuous.

It was not aimed at anyone, just the situation.

I predicted Lamar to get beat by Trinity this season after watching last years game. I hope Trinity can beat LN and play Lamar again! I'm curious how you came to that prediction? I don't mean that to be confrontational, honest. Just for conversations sake.

Honestly I thought they made way to many mental mistakes last year in the Championship. A couple huge penalties and one deep ball that I can remember for sure that was a TD and they just flat dropped it. With most of their team back, I just thought they had a decent shot. It was fun to make a prediction a year in advance. Obviously I missed it by a long shot with them not winning districts. But even that was on a failed 2-pt conversion with under a minute to play. I will root for you guys all the way and will be there Saturday to watch you handle Ava. Just threw this out there for fun honestly, hoping it would come down to Trinity and Lamar again.

I pretty much figured Trinity to get back to the championship as well. The way the brackets worked out this year, it would've been the Semi-finals where the 2met.
