Whats the word on coaches?.. Everyone staying put, to this point?

The only thing I heard at end of season was OConnor at Cabool has family with health issues and may leave. I have no confirmation of that and as far as I know everyone is staying put. I havent even heard of assistant coach changes yet.

Update - Grove is in a coaching search, have not heard of a hire yet
Cabool has let go of OConnor (do not know if he left on his own or they didnt renew contract).

Instead of posting more changes in another category I will post more here - Willow is looking for a boys basketball coach. Coach Bunch told his boys last night of his resignation, he is staying at the school as a teacher, and is expecting a baby. - Cabool is looking for a volleyball, cheerleading, and softball coach. Ava is looking for a volleyball coach.

Pretty good hire considering they had to go thru like 15 names. Has cabool hired yet? More Like 3 names. Some names you probably heard about and talked to never had a chance to be hired. |

I will give you the number is between 3 and 15, but closer to 15 than the Grove faithful would care to admit. I know every name we went after. That's a fact. I talk almost every day with Coach Rodgers. I can promise you I know a lot more than you. And I probably will get a phone call and a gag order from this post. But it's not even close to 15 for the head coaching position. We where also looking for assistant coaches as well don't confuse those guys with having a shot at the Grove Head man.....If you want to know who we really looked at....former Monett DC, Warrensburg assistant,one coach in SCA,one Grove assistant, and one former Super successful COC coach who wanted to come but for Family reasons couldn't. That's a long way from 15 or even 10. Now I'm not saying it wasn't a bit of a struggle to find a acceptable Head Guy at Grove. It was, because outside of the guys I mentioned....well let's just say there are not a whole lot of guys who meet our criteria. So don't twist this we didn't shoot out 15 offers to highly qualified coaches who met our standards and got turned down. |

So you have already doubled your original number of 3.
a bit of a struggle indeed. But at the end of the day you got as good of a hire as you could hope for especially considering the dynamics of the football program right now.

I was waiting for someone from Cabool to make official. I spoke to and congratulated Vince McCrosky for his 3rd coming to Cabool. I have no confirmation of this part but some of us in Willow are being told he is also the new athletic director.
MGHS or other Grovers - For Grove this is the first in-school hire for them since.....? Dont they always hire outside of town? Even the Possum came from another school though he is a Grove alumni. Also I have heard (no confirmation) that Grove and Cabool are both looking for multiple assistants for their rosters, I know Grove "stole one back from us".....

Well I said 3 because the SCA coach wasn’t coming but you had to ask,and the Super COC coach had family he couldn’t leave and that was know when he was approached so that was also a had to ask deal. So really u narrow it down to 3 legit names that the administration felt was legit options. Monett DC Warrensburg CMS coach Mtn.Grove assistant . Then we caught a huge break and Coach B decided to take job. And yes we are looking for some quality assistant coaches. |
