Instead of March and the every 2 year cycle, and us waiting anxiously to see who is in our district, MSHSAA will now wait until August to pair the schools up and will do every year now. Thoughts?

Yeah, a few things are going to be different this time... as we have already talked about they are going to annual counts instead of every two years.
They are waiting until the second week of August to set classifications and Districts (they said the reasoning is because of schools dropping at the last minute, this way they will know for sure how many schools are participating.
also, a new thing is that in Feb or March at the latest they are going to be voting on the change in the way they set the numbers of schools in each of the classes. Instead picking the top 32 teams and putting them in Class 6. Then starting at the bottom and going with 64 in each Class 1-4 and the left overs going into Class 5 (called catch all for getting what is left) and having districts with 5 or 6 teams. They are going to look at the idea of taking the top 32 enrollments and making them class 6 But then take the total number of schools left and divide them by 5 and make each class with an equal amount of teams.

I havent heard anything new in regards to these rules, and of course we still have to wait till August for the new district pairings. Willow graduated one of, if not the biggest class in it's history and I have word that some of the classes behind us are bigger by a few students, so we could have 105-110 per class including kids we are now inheriting from Richards (not all play sports).
So this got me to thinking we may move up to Class 3 this next cycle. It also got me to thinking that Ava and possibly Grove may move back to C3 as well depending on the state's new rule. IF, and only IF said thing happens, this could make for some interesting district pairings and I think it would affect Mtn. View more than anyone. Could they be paired up with Lamar and Fair Grove in the SAME district if they dont get sent east with Malden? Could 1/3 of the SCA be paired up with Reeds Spring, Cassville, or other schools that direction? I also realize these events will depend on how many schools go to 8 man, how many new schools come in (Doniphan this year, Clever I think in 2 years), and things like that. Thoughts??
