I want to try something new, and hope to get some good feedback/discussion from everyone. I am going to start a weekly poll for game of the week. The choices will be on the list of MoSooner's pickem and does not have to be an all SCA game. Some weeks may be more obvious than others and some weeks may have multiple close games. The end result will NOT always be what we all decide should be the game of the week, yet it WILL be the game that was the closest or went into OT to decide etc. etc. So tell me what you all think! Instead of posting actual polls to vote, I will just leave the forums open for discussion.
Dew's pick for game of the week - Cabool vs. Doniphan. Upstart (possibly) program vs. a new (since the 1980s) program with nobody knowing what they will bring.
Anxious to see your picks and thoughts

I think Cabool vs. Doniphan will be a great game, I picked Cabool to win but it was a 50/50 guess. I think this might be Cabool's best shot at a win all season. I realize Cabool is at the bottom of the SCA right now coming off an 0-10 season, but let's not sell them so short that we expect a team that has never played varsity football to be able to topple em. I remember watching a winless Liberty team absolutely crush Urbana Skyline 58-0 in their first year of football. Not to mention the fact that Doniphans first ever game is against an option attack, hard to imagine a bunch of first timers not having difficulty playing responsible enough to not give up a few big ones.
The game I'm most curious about is actually Thayer vs. Hayti. If Thayer is as good as folks are saying it will be interesting to see if they can reverse last years 56-14 beatdown.

I doubt any one here knows anything about Doniphan and considering it is the first year playing varsity football Cabool ought to roll in this game
Thayer/Hayti, Liberty/Richmond, and Salem/St James will be better picks for game of the week

I think the Richmond-Liberty game should be a tough contest. I've been hearing a lot about how good Richmond will be since they moved down a class. And Liberty is explosive on offense and could surprise a lot of people this year.

I believe the eagles will be pass happy this year with there experienced wide receiver core. Looks like runningback by committee this year. How well will the eagles QB take care of the ball? That's the question in alot of eagles fans minds. If he limits his turnovers you may be right swmissouritiger. Eagles by 2 TDS over Richmond.

Well, our first picks for game of the week proved to be wrong. But that's why we love this game especially season openers right? There was only 2 close games in our conference this week. One was an upset loss by Ava by 4 and the other a 4 point win by Salem. So my choice for game of the week (and feel free to discuss/disagree) is Salem vs. St. James. I would like to have seen more discussion on this and I thank those who did. I hope this type of thread will take off and we can get more people talking on here. As always thanks to the 144 members of this site for making it go. Tell your friends about this folks. There's at least 8 coffee shops and 8 barber shops in the SCA, lol they cant be the only places that talk
