#4 Thayer at #1 Pierce City #4 Liberty at #1 Ava #3 Strafford at #2 Fair Grove #4 Sikeston at #1 West Plains #2 Reeds Spring vs #3 Mt. Vernon #8 Forsyth at #7 Willow #6 Houston at #5 Mtn. Grove Should be some good ones this week! My pick for game of the week is Strafford/Fair Grove rematch. Ava/Liberty could be good too!

Liberty vs Ava is more intriguing because of how MV passing game has come on and how will Ava combat that?

It'll be tuff for the eagles to go to Ava and get out of there with a win. That being said I believe the progress we've seen out of the eagles the past few weeks has been real. As a eagles fan all season I haven't allowed myself to believe that eagles had the ability to be relevant in district play but what we've seen of late has been encouraging. With a team that's finally healthy and firing on all cylinders I expect the eagles to put up a fight that the bears in the end won't be able to handle. Their not the same team the bears played earlier this season as I'm sure the bears aren't the same team we seen as well. The defense of the the eagles will be the difference. I've always said that most teams we play are extremely predictable run run and then run again and pass every once in a while to keep you off balance. Easier to prepare defensively for a team that runs a majority of the time. I've watched alot of film on the bears this week and my gosh you dang near go to sleep but it gets the job done no doubt. I'm cautiously optimistic that the eagles take this one imo. Just seems like the train is running down the tracks with a good head of steam.

Keep in mind the first go around Ava threw 2 td passes and their other td was setup by a long pass. Ava CAN pass, they just prefer not too. How will our dbs handle it this time remains to be seen.

We definitely saw the bears effectively pass the ball with great success. The eagles inexperience and injuries I believe contributed to that success. We feel good bout the players in the secondary now and the experience gained throughout the year and they need to be tested if they expect to compete in the next round. We saw early on that our pass D against earlier opponents was going to be a major issue that needed to be fixed and we'll see if it is for sure. I just believe that the bears r going grind the clock down keep the eagles O off the feild and I'm sure the bears will take there shots but for the most part teams do what there best at. Like I said earlier in the week I believe its a stretch for me think the bears can win 4 games in a row against the eagles. View in a squeaker

It's hard to beat a quality team twice in a season, but with that said I picked Ava because it's in Douglas Co. and I think Ava has a few more difference makers that should tip the tide in their favor.

Ava has the same vex on View, as View has on Grove. its in the MG players brains that they cant beat View anymore. Till these kids sack up and play with the same intensity as they do in the other games they will continue to get beat. If same grove team that absolutely killed thayer shows up we win that rematch a week ago. It was like watching polar opposites

Ahh last weeks Grove Team was a bit short handed at the OG spot...We lost one OG against Thayer and the other got gimpy in 2nd drive Vs Liberty. Add in that MV has vastly improved it passing game and it was going against our weakest Defensive unit and Boom Liberty Rolls us. Even at Full strength we would of had a tall order to beat a Clicking eagle squad a huge underkat. But With one starter on the sideline and the other hobbled the game was a runaway. The Liberty squad we faced last Friday beats us almost every time.
With that said the Boys have nothing to hang their heads over they played hard and competed for 4 qrts. Truth is we where expected to win about 3 games our less and many picked us to finish 6th or 7th in the SCA and we massively over achieved after starting 0-3. That is a testament to the Players grit and the coaching staff really getting the best out of the players. Any Grove Fan should be proud.

I agree , As long as the young men play their hearts out and never say die then they have nothing to be ashamed of I think both of our teams have surpassed what most people thought that we'd win .
