I always figured it would be an SCA team to take down Lamar, but its little known Lathrop to do it.

Look I get it. The SCA lives and breathes to take out Lamar. But you guys are like 0-6 at it. Maybe worse. But would there have been a thread on here if Lamar won? Nope. Lathrop is a great team. Coached by former BO coach Holt. The last coach to beat Lamar Miller class 2. Very well coached team.

Congrats to Lamar though on a great run. Webb City doesnt win them all and I am sure both Webb and Lamar arent going down anytime soon. I'd still pick them as the team to beat next year.

Some fans cannot get over the fact that Lamar knocked out their team so many times. Take it as a compliment. Green with envy that Lamar has reached a level that our teams will never reach. |

Coach Holt came from Maryville by way of Oak Park not Blair Oaks. It's pretty impressive what he has done in his 3-4 years at Lathrop, who happens to be one of the smallest schools in Class 2. All that success at Maryville and now he's back in the title with a different school. Hard to see them beating Blair Oaks though after what they just did to Lutheran North.

There wouldnt have been a thread if Lamar won because they havent been beat in class 2 in 8 years, so yea i think its worth mentioning it. Great program. It would be fair to say that any school would be happy with 7 straight championships. |

Well , I don't think Lamar is gonna be down this year . I'm not sure how it's going to stack up in the SCA this year but it seems like there will be quite a bit of changes and shake ups to get Ironed out . It will be an interesting year to say the least and I for one Intend to go to alot more games again ....It'll be fun to see how things progress in our little conference .

I think the SCA is still down. Ava will be the cream of the crop then MV....maybe Salem will rise up with their new coach.

Most people that I talked to around the area thought that Lamar was going to be down a little last year and even more so this coming year... The numbers have fallen off just a little. Not sure they played a frosh schedule this past season. But before too many people start celebrating... Down for Lamar is a little different than DOWN for most of the rest of us.

I thought I remember hearing somewhere that Coach Bailey at Lamar was moving up to AD and wouldn't be coaching anymore.. Or something like that. Can anyone confirm?
