So I am at Thayer the other night for 4 basketball games. I wind up sitting by an old man I have talked to many times, and especially talked alot when the old sca site was running. We spent 4 games catching up on things and talking sports history. He asked me how everyone was and if we even spoke to each other now, so I directed him here. To my knowledge he doesnt do social media other than this He's fought cancer and was off the map for awhile, but looking as good as ever and living his life. For you old schoolers, I found one old classic

Hope he post some...I really miss the hay day of the sca board, I’m not sure if social media has thinned the numbers or if people are just to PC and thinned skinned to join in the banter? I sure hope it’s not a loss of interest in football over all but that is a possibility!

I think the golden days of message boards in general are long gone. Part of it is there's other things to do with Twitter and what not, but I think the biggest reason is just that the novelty is gone. Part of what made the SCA boards heyday so great was the new-ness of it all.

Some of the sports forums for Colleges still have a lot of traffic....I do see that some of the newness might of worn off but the SCA board rolled for almost a decade pretty heavy now nothing at all. I don't twitter facebook or any other social media stuff so I clearly out of that loop. I do agree the Golden days of message boards are long gone....I think a huge issue is the PC SJW types have taken a lot of the fun out of it as well.

I think MoSports trolls have hurt us as via trickle down effect as well. People are afraid to post due to some wisecrack ruining their thread. Most of us stay on subject so why not post on here anyhow? The old SCA site was awesome, and I know I'm no Steve Pierce but I did try to carry on his tradition. What I really loved about back then was getting to know so many people from different towns.
