I know the Game doesn't have the cache of Thayer vs Salem a game that will go a long way's to answering the question is Thayer the cream of the crop in the SCA this year and is Salem getting back on track as the Blue tigers of Old?
And in reality this game doesn't even have the intrigue of MV vs Ava which will answer the question is Liberty free falling this year or is their schedule they played just that dang good.....and the match up between Ava and MV could very well be a barn burner.
But I digress so back to the Willow vs Grove match up which very well could make one teams season and break another's depending on the outcome, a game with a lot riding on the line for both teams, a game between squads that have one common opponent which both teams lost to with similar scores. So this game has a lot of unanswered questions and will answer a lot of questions for both teams two teams on opposite ends of the spectrum in a lot of way's,Willow a team that has a boat load of Seniors on the squad and Grove a game that is basically playing a pumped up JV squad with several Freshman and sophomores starting on both sides of the ball and a team with only 5 seniors and one of them who was lost to a ACL before the season started.
Yep while this game doesn't have the glitz of the other two games it does have a air of mystery about it. I'm curious as to the outcome and excited as well.

I know Grove is 0-3 but you guys gotta have defense as your scores are low. Not all of our scoring has come from offense its came from fumble recoveries and kick-off return. We are bit by injury bug as well now plus you have owned us from 2005- present. Whoever wins this thing i believe will win 14-12 or something in that range.

Several interesting matchups this week in the SCA.
Willow/Grove is a toss up. Low scoring battle. I will give edge to Willow since it is at their place.
Cabool/Houston. No idea what will happen in this one. coming into year I would have said houston by a lot here, but things change. Surprised Cabool got beat by Willow by so much.
Ava/Liberty. Another toss up game. Liberty has played a tough schedule. Ava has not looked as good as expected. I will go Ava because I think their defense will give Liberty trouble and Libertys defense will struggle with the Ava run game. But always a fun battle between these 2 teams.
Thayer/Salem. Does anyone really know how good Salem is? Thayer was my pick to win the conference this year and so far that seems right. Going to go green in this one.

i think its make or break for Grove. If we don't figure out a way to move the ball tonight we may go 0-10 Losing will put the last nail in their confidence. If we drop this game and start our poorly next week against cabool I think its time to put in the young guys to get them ready for next year. 7th 8th and JV are all undefeated

I pull out the archives and look but Modern era I think 2 wins. Back in the 50's I'm pretty sure we had a 1 win season but My memory is failing me so I will check the 3 ring binder.

Wow losing to both Willow and Cabool in the same season and back to back weeks. Have to think that may have never happened before. They very well may go winless on the season.
