Will Mtn grove have another new head coach. Or will he have a 2nd year Why would they get rid of coach Rogers? From what I’ve seen he’s doing a great job with developing their young talent. It may not have shown up in the win column this year but I expect that to change over the next 2 years. I was very impressed with their freshman quarterback that played Friday against Ava.

everyone in Grove knew that this season was going to be rough before it started. With injuries and kids getting kicked off the team it only amplified the situation. So I dont think Coach Rodgers will get fired. What everyone needs to see in year 3 is a change from the veer. Next years talent is not suited for it.

Its public school football and you have to play what you have. The bad news is they went 0-10 but the good news is they got tons of Friday Night experience for some kids that in years past would have played on Monday Night or not got much playing time at all... That experience will pay off... Just give him the time....

You won't see the split back veer next year, although the offense did work this year to a degree, Exhibit A take the first Ava game compared to the Last Ava game. The split back veer allowed us to eat up the clock, keep the ball out of the hands of the Ava offensive weapons and try to sneak away with a win. In fact you could say that about every game this year, while the SBV didn't give us a ton of points it protected our defense and gave us a chance to be in most ball games. If we had ran the Spread like we did versus Ava in the last game....we would of given up a lot of points not unlike the 60pts we gave up versus Ava. We would of scored a few more but we would of given up a whole lot more, in most games the Turbo would of been in effect. Also if we had not had the Slew of injuries on the LOS and elsewhere... J. Holman best Lineman,Issac M. Senior Lineman,Barbe starting OT etc. and as you said the dismissal of our most Athletic RB then the veer would of not looked so bad. We all knew going into the season that a 0-5 win season was the low and top end if you looked at it realistically....with the injuries etc. the bottom end was the result. We do have a lot of work to do in the off season we only return 5 Junior or would be Seniors. So we will be Junior and soph. heavy...a very young team. I fully expect coach Rodgers to return, he did a good job his first year in eeking out 5 wins with limited talent...2019 he could of done the same thing if things had broke our way but just the opposite happened. No need to panic and look for a replacement.

Im not sure it kept the defense off the field for much longer then a spread would have. we had an awful lot of 3 and outs. and they scored 75 points on season. Including 2 times getting shutout against Cabool and Salem. Going off memory 1 score was a punt return at Stafford, and a Pick 6 against Thayer. So 61 points scored. 20 of which was against ava after changing up the offense quite a bit. once a team was up by 2 scores the game was over. as we had 0 chance of catching up. Veer only works if you score. a spread team can score 2 or 3 times in a 5 minute window

You saw how many points we gave up versus Ava...60pts and scored a whopping 20pts. And believe me Ava had no idea we was going full spread this week, if they had prepared for it we would not of even scored 20pts. The SBV made us competitive to a degree this season. If we had ran the spread all season everyone would of Turbo us.

I know everyone expected a down year for the "Evil Empire" but the Grove game was the only Liberty game I got to witness this year and I was absolutely amazed by the showing of the Grove faithful. Everyone had already given up on the year and it was a ghost town.

Coach Rodgers is a great guy and he has done a good job the last 2 seasons. But I am sure even he realizes that the patience of some people will start to wear thin next season if some wins do not happen.
Grove is no different than any other town, fair weather fans.
