Time after time I see 200 plus people have visited this forum. We don't have that many members. So many many people are now "afraid to say/post something" yet if it were political posts on social media there'd be 500 opinions within an hour. Several of us have done all we could to get this forum sparked up but it just don't happen. By the way - as the owner of this site I can NOT get into your personal info if that is what's keeping you from joining (BallinFreak...). I can only see your email name and your posts. So if you just want to be known by your screen name only ProBoards can see that kind of information. Next year's contest is simply this - we will vote on a game of the week from MoSooner's pickem contest. This does NOT have to be a SCA game. If there is something more intriguing that he posts then we will roll with that, but you the voters decide. There will be prizes at the end of the year for the winners. Prizes Gift card for Colton's $15 visa/master gift card Large pizza of your choice from Pizza Americana - if you live farther away (Salem for instance) and can't use this, I'll make other arrangements The first place winner will get his/her choice, and so forth. If I can come up with better prizes or sponsored prizes I will make changes. The ones listed will be on my dime (so you better pray I keep a job  ) Rules You MUST participate in MoSooner's pickem game EVERY SINGLE WEEK You MUST post on a thread at least 25 times during the season, predictions on MoSooner's pickem will NOT count, this is an incentive to talk sports. So be ready! |

Love the idea... I have scratched my head over and over, wondering why the posts arent like they were at one time. I realize I am not in SCA country but I do hope that my "time served" has earned me honorary membership. Its a great league with some great rivalries.. Lets get this thing going again.. Not saying it has to get nasty or anything (none of us want that) but lets fire this thing up....

it was a good entertainment value the days of old! those days seem to be gone though sad to say. just like the excitement an enthusiasm on the field has gone away. if they get to excited they get an unsportsmanlike an if someone said something on here folks got butt hurt. lol. man good times!!!the fire needs to be stoked.

Maybe it is just time to realize that the board of the past is not coming back. It is a different time and message boards are not as popular as they once were. Enjoy the activity that is here and stop wishing for days gone by.

I agree to a degree message boards are not as popular as they once was and a lot of that is do to the SJW PC attitude that has been forced on everyone taking the free flowing fun of trash talking and tongue and cheek banter away. To many weak willed people in the world who want to control others people behavior because they can't control their own behavior and feelings. That is the reason that many folks of given up on message boards just not worth the hassle.

I agree Facebook has killed message boards to a degree. Even some of the College Message boards suffer now. I hate Facebook don't even have a account. Got better things to do with my life than troll through everyone's narcissistic posting of pictures and boring life updates. I call or visit my friends and actually communicate with them as opposed to lurk on their social media accounts. To much info. to much drivel for me....message boards get to the hard core nitty gritty without all the stupid fluff.
I'm not for much gov. taxation but if I could I would tax by the hour on all social media accounts....twitter,intagram, facebook etc. Make it about 60 cents a hour should do it.

Ok I'm going to give this a try. Bmac has offered to pitch in and help with this so I gladly accept. With 2020 being such a weird year I personally think it's time to get away from Nittwit & Instapot and actually discuss sports, namely football. Please guys/gals no posts or comments about Covid. Let's think positive and move forward as much as normal as possible. I had to make a change as I posted this back in the winter I didn't keep track of who has posted how many times (though the offseason did have a few posts). So the 25 post rule starts today (Aug. 14) and I have the # of posts saved from every single member on this forum. From MoSooner's pickem game you must pick a game of the week every single week to be eligible. That game of the week is YOUR choice. Obviously there will be many picks of the same games so score predictions are a MUST. The game of the week results to be decided by myself and Bmac (who will both make our picks but not eligible for prizes, so we will pick for the fun) will be the games with the closest scores or games that have gone into overtime. This is a whole new idea by me, I may make mistakes and this will be a learning process for all of us. So if we see a different idea or a rule change to come about for next year then it will be considered. Though not a requirement I would like to see reasons why you picked the game of the week to be such to help keep discussions going. Bmac - Thanks for the offer of help bud.
