This Friday begins the 2020 High School Football Season. As always, for the last 11-12 (maybe more?) years we have posted pregame prayers from individuals from towns across the area. This is the FIRST year we have had participants from all 8 SCA schools plus help again from Reeds Spring. These prayers aren't about us it's about God and our kids. Next week the prayer comes from Mtn. View. We usually post on Thursdays or early Friday mornings but I felt compelled to get it started

The 2020 Week 1/Opening Prayer -
Dear God, we come to you with Thanksgivng in our hearts to you. Yes, this has been a different year but we know that you are still in control and always will be. You give us a country that has many blessings and though we abuse those priveleges you love us through anyway. What other being can love his people despite their flaws? Absolutely none. This Friday starts the High School Football Season. School has started in many places or will be soon in others. We ask your protection on our students, teachers, administrators, parents, and anyone else who should lead our young. Lord, we ask you guide and comfort those in the Couch/Alton area as a young man has been lost, many of us know in other communities how that feels. I also pray no such incident happens again Also be with the young man from Thayer who was injured last week at the jamboree in West Plains. With sports starting Lord our student athletes will be working hard and representing their respective hometowns to the best of their abilities. There will be wins and losses, but with you, we will NEVER EVER LOSE. Give these youngsters all the blessing they can handle. Keep them safe, especially from the evils of this world. Be with our coaches to be the best influences they can be. Be with our officials as they have to work with new rules of the game this year, and grand everyone patience to let them be. And Lord we usually pray just for our local kids but with this year being what it has been I am praying for all student athletes across the nation. You are a big God, and you do big things, even more than we can fathom. Thank you for being there for us. Thank you for the greatest gift that you gave us in your son. That is the best trophy/first place win anyone can ever have. We ask and pray this in your great son, Jesus name – Amen.
