Cornman should of been in the backfield today, I was hoping that was what we had been saving him for. We havent had a big bruiser running back since Daniel Porter.

I’ve been impressed with Liberty this year and they seem to be getting better every game. I’m gonna go with the Eagles in this one 26-14. I know you all hate us, I mean it would suck having a decade of teams in a conference all lose outside of one time to one team. I’ll give you guys credit, well some. Ava did beat our worst overall team in a decade. Congrats I guess. It’s the little things right? 😘 I don’t think anyone in Ava hates you guys. Actually I’d say most Ava fans respect the Tigers and think most of their fans are very classy. I would assume it’s mostly Liberty fans who dislike Lamar as most of the losses you have referred to have been theirs. They’re just frustrated.

No I'm A liberty fan and I've never new another fan that dissed on Lamar , most of us consider getting far enough in the tournament to play lamar is like a badge of approval . And yes it is frustrating losing to lamar in the quarters 7 times in a row . This year was like a cinderell season for us and yes we kept getting a little better each game and that there was kind of the problem , a little better doesn't get you good enough to play a multi year in and year out state championship caliber team that plain and that simple . Nobody in our conference exept Cabool has won a state championship . Ava has gone to they state title and found out that they weren't as big and bad as they thaught they were which is the way we felt after this game against Lamar and we got our asses handed to us . And Lamar when they are at full strength can kick butt on those private schools with the Pro sized players . It's a privalage to get to play Lamar and they are a class team and we all know it and we all know what it's like to be outclassed and outmanned to a better team .The way I see it is WE just have to sucket it up and get stronger .

The way I see it is WE just have to sucket it up and get stronger . Opinion only - I have said for the last few years that WE as a conference need to step up. It's been great to see Thayer make it to state every year. It's been great to see teams make it to the quarters and run into the Lamar buzzsaw that only Ava has broke through (in recent history). But we live in a conference that is the oldest (or 2nd oldest) in the history of the state. We've been loaded with traditions and all. But what have we proved lately? We get our ups and downs but we aren't dominant like the west side of the Ozarks has been. That used to be US (SCA)

The SCA has never been as dominant as the west side of the ozarks.

Yes...Grove was 6-4-1 in the Ozark bowl...pitted the best east team versus the best west team of Springfield. Game was played at Briggs stadium(now Plaster) So yes in the years past the east did dominate the west.

In no world is 6-4-1 a dominant record. And this is not talking about the Ozark bowl record of one team, but about overall accomplishments. Remind me how many state championships have come from the west side of the ozarks and how many have come from the east? case closed.

That was just groves record ...other east teams won as well. They dominated the Ozark bowl. Sorry your history of football is lacking but football didn’t start in 1968.

I understand the history of football in this area just fine. And while it did not start in 1968, it also did not end then either. The SCA had some good years historically, but the last 30 years the west has been way more dominant than the SCA and the east ever was, and every year we move forward that reality becomes even more clear and dominant. The Lamar run by itself shows this, but then include in the rest of the Big 8 and their accomplishments, and we have not even mentioned Webb City yet. So yeah I understand the history just fine. The SCA never had a run as dominant as the last 30 years by the west.

I agree the west has been dominate for the last several decades ..I don’t dispute that but at one time that was not the case was my point.

The 2010,11,12,13 Liberty teams would have probably gone to state all 4 of those years and possibly won state 3 out of those 4 years if it wasn't for arguably the best teams Lamar has ever had. Definitely the 2012 & 13 teams were the best. The 2010 team caught a diving pass in the end zone to win but I think Liberty was better that year. It just sucked that Lamar had good teams the same years as Liberty and that they had to play in the Quarterfinals. Funny note - Lamar's coach, Jered Beshore, was the one that caught that winning pass in the end zone. I am glad to get to meet & chat with some great people from the SCA over the years. I hope that isn't just because Lamar has won and I would have had a more bitter taste in my mouth if the tables were turned. We don't have a conference chat board or Facebook page so thanks for letting us be a part of yours.

But, the way some folks are, in our league, it might not be the best idea..

We don't have a conference chat board or Facebook page so thanks for letting us be a part of yours. You are always welcome here. When this new forum was set up after the old site crashed I set it up with 2 diffrent categores, SCA and other conferences, with hopes that more folks would come over here and talk about their leagues as well. The Ozark Conference also had a board owned by the same person as the old SCA site, but it also got hacked and destroyed. And towards the end of their run if you wasnt from Joplin or Parkview there wasnt much being discussed, and West Plains was struggling at that time so I think they had only 1 poster. The message board business has picked back up a little on here and mosports (blech). If you think you can get people from your area involved I would be willing to set up a category for your area/conference or just let you all post in this one. I'd leave that up to you and the members.
