Lets get a little off season chatter going ....
Give me a coach.. Current or Historical.. Who, in your opinion, did the most with the least.. In other words found ways to be successful without a ton of talent... Or maybe just someone that always found a way to get the most out of the kids....

David Meek - Willow, Cabool and Thayer. Heard many stories of how those teams wouldn't "have much" but he has SCA titles in their names. He coached at Willow 54 years ago and is STILL on the sidelines at Thayer

Larry Silvey - Ava/Ozark. Coach Silvey is a legendary coach who helped start the Ozark Tiger football program and then came to Ava and put Ava football on the map. The stories that man can tell of not only Ava football but of the football history of all of the SCA and former SCA schools.

I got him on facebook, and anytime a coach/teacher is honored for anything he's the first one mentioning their name. It's almost like he worked in 50 different schools What I'd give just to sit in a living room with him for a day and learn the history he knows. Come on folks, MoSooner started a good one here, and I'm not gonna take this whole thread up mentioning more names. Represent your town!

Silvey and Meek are two legends...Meek probably did more with less than most coaches. Silvey is a wise old sage for sure.
