Anyone heard any exciting news coming from cabool? In particular their Football coaching staff as they welcome in a successful former SCA head coach to the staff.

According to some fb posts with a link that has Cabool coaching staff on it, and if I knew how to share that to here I would, it is Darin Acklin. He only stayed in Mtn Home 1 yr. It lists him as an assistant under Spittler. Does not say what his position is but I'm guessing OC

Well that is interesting.....and possibly awkward for a relatively new coach to have a Huge and Successful Personality on the Staff. I guess Spittler is giving up play calling duties? I thought he did a good job in that regard.

I doubt it would be awkward since Spittler asked him to join the staff. I don't think Spittler is giving up the play calling or anything either. If I were to guess I would say Acklin wanted to take a bit of his plate so that he could make trips to see his son play in Canada while also getting back in MO to keep paying into his teachers retirement.

Surely Acklin has his necessary time in for Mo teachers retirement eligibility?? I figured he was asked to be on staff by Spittler but you know as well as I do that having a recently Highly successful coach on staff can have pitfalls because of human nature and I'm not referring to the Staff dynamics as much to the players and fan dynamic. It's pretty common for people to have the back QB syndrome anything good that happens might be seen as Acklins influence and anything bad that happens might be Spittlers fault. This might work out swimmingly well and it has the potential not to. Be interesting to see the outcome. Just another point of intrigue to this upcoming season that will be fun to watch.
