Which school has the most loyal fanbase. I am talking, they are there, when they are good, as well as when they are bad. Now, I know that every school thinks they have the best fans in the world, so for this post, no patting yourself on the back and picking your school. (and lets keep it nice.. no voicing your opinion on the WORST) we can do that a different day... (dont want Dew having to ban anyone, quite yet... LOL)

Thayer. I dont recall any time in 30 yrs that they had low attendance on anything. During jv football which doesn't draw much they seem to have more folks than anyone else whether road or home. Bmac's case for lib is true too (did I just say that? )

I am going to go in an unusual direction and pick Cabool. They have endured some terrible years and still generally have a good crowd no matter what.
Thayer has great attendance every year because their team is always good. Have they had a year under .500 in the last 20 years?
Liberty fans travel well when we are good, but our group is as fickle as most schools. A couple years ago when we struggled the attendance fell off huge.

For the best fan base I would have to say Mountain Grove. I've never seen a game where Grove fans didn't show up in large numbers. As far as the worst pressbox for football I have to agree that Strafford is pretty bad, however it's nice that it at least has a roof access in it. I love that the Cabool press box simply because it has a bathroom upstairs in it. I think the worst press box in the SCA is a three way tie between Salem and Thayer. Neither have a roof access to place cameras on and are very limited in space. Houston's is bad too but at least it has a concrete platform in front of it at the top of the bleachers to place cameras on. Cabool's is also small with no rooftop access but it also has some room in front of it to place cameras. Grove's is one of the nicer ones for sure but I have no idea why they didn't put a roof access point on it. That's it's biggest flaw. Ava, Liberty and Willow have the best ones that I've been to for broadcasting. They're the newest.

Thayer has so much wasted space a told them they should put a Private Bar on the top floor and make bank or open up a homeless shelter in 20 feet of open area LOL...worse thing is they have horrible windows that are to small and with the influx of Media streaming it's went from being pretty dang good to small and crowded. I like Houston pretty well you can take out windows and with separate sound proof rooms that is nice, but same as Thayer a lot of wasted space behind the Windows and it's now being outgrown and becoming tight. Cabool is way to small and I mean way to small the bath room be darned, its not very functional and horribly crowded to put that much work in and to have basically a cracker box is sad. Ava has upgraded beyond belief and with roof access it's the 2nd best in the conference by far I think that is pretty much a easy call. WS is the Third best, roof access and plenty of room because of it. Salem is the worst, the have roof access but only for the Home team, windows small, rooms cramped and not even close to enough Space it's the pits and really embarrassing for the largest school in the Conference. Liberty is running a close race with WS for the 3rd place IMO could be a push really they should be proud of what they have now..
Grove doesn't have roof access because the Construction company didn't want to take on and sign off on the Liability do to the Height of the Stands from the back end. So in Legalize it's a insurance things, but with all the rooms it's usually not a issue, often some are empty although with more and more streaming of games it's starting to fill up.

Strafford always made a spot for me in the main press box, so I have no problems with them... LOL
The worst I ever called a game from, was the old field in Fair Grove. It was tiny, I was right beside the PA guy and the floor was rotting out. I could look straight down and see the ground, far below. But their new place is nice.
Seneca, has the visitors outside... they have a spot set up, their is just no walls or roof. I was worried about it before I called a game there but it actually works well. (luckily there was not rain) It was freezing, one of the times though.
The space at Aurora is extremely small. Really only roof for one.
I have not had a bad experience in the SCA. (other than it being hot, but its like that early everywhere) I don't need roof access it does not affect me. (well there was the problems with a cell signal from Cabool, but that was basketball and would be a whole other thread)

That’s good to know! I love the facility you all have at Grove and the press box is nice and has many rooms. I was always curious as to why they didn’t put access to the roof. The amount of rooms it has makes up for it but I’m weird and prefer to put the cameras for my live-stream on the roof so that may have made me a bit bias in my earlier post.

Well the idea of adding roof talk access has been talked about from the day it opened. But it doesn't look like it will happen in the near future. I hope it does sometime but I'm not holding my breath.

I think Cabool is often forgotten....they have had some rough patches over the last 30 years and they still get good support.
