Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for all that you do and give. Thank you for another year of the privelege of high school sports and our priveleges to support the participants. Father as you know we live in perilous times and in my mind Lord we can unite as a people in 2 ways. One is through you and as we grow in our faith we grow together as a people under your guidance, faith, love, and mercy. Another is this “distraction” called sports. You have even mentioned in your bible about running as to win the race so I believe you Lord are a sports fan. And you give us this blessing to watch us unite as a people for our causes which in this case is our coaches and players. Through our pregame prayers we unite to you in both faith and sport. Lord we fight our battles here on earth but you have already won the big victory when your son paid for all of us on that cross. No matter the scores of these games or the things we face in this life we are already and always will be winners with you. Lord we also ask that you protect those who protect our freedoms to have you and who protect this country we live in. Be with those who are also protecting those across this world who want to be yours. Let us use these blessings as a praise to you and not glory for ourselves. We may boast and brag on our teams Lord but you are the one who blessed their investments to be a team, and that is good enough. And we thank you Lord for bible verses of which I close this with my favorite to give to all you players and coaches – Phillipians 4:13
In Jesus name we pray,
AMEN!
