So I watched the Salem vs Houston game on their Streaming broadcast. And I noticed their Color Guy Rick who does a pretty good job, has this weird Laugh after almost every comment he makes. I went and then watched/Listened some snippets from other games and he does it on all of them. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this and if they found it off putting listening to this over the course of games and a season? Like I said he does a nice job and appears to be a good color guy, but the laugh is different.

I watched their youtube broadcast Friday Night but the sound was a bit muffled so never heard a laugh. However he did a great job. He was pro-salem of course but he acknowledged kids and coaches on our team and called it as down the middle as he could. On our goal line stand he was calling it like the qb was going to score (and it sure appeared it) and said "man that kid came out of nowhere to stop him, great play for Willow".

Are you talking about the Play by Play broadcaster or the Color man both are good on many aspects of the game? But I'm talkin about the Color guy. Go to youtube and listen to the Houston/Salem game and you will hear it, it was worse in the Thayer/Salem game I decided to listen to it all. And both of them are a bit lacking in Basic football knowledge on some subjects. Neither of them know that each team has their own set of balls and that they can be different brands and models. One time they got upset that the official had gave Salem the Houston's ball and the Salem Center was asking for a change to their ball. Both of them where in agreement that they shouldn't of stopped the game to make that change. I was flabbergasted that mistake should be corrected as it was.
I went back and started watching WS game and he has that laugh right after the first big run By the QB....23:22ish mark, reminds me of the Joker laugh. Can't believe you didn't hear it if you watched it on Youtube.

Stan the man is one of the best the long time play by play man!! top notch great guy. good entertainment value. does very well w volleyball. he may have some times not up on everything but he's not boring like some others around.

Agreed! Stan is a class act and a great person! I love listening to him call play by play for Salem! Back when Joe Corum called Ava games, Stan and Joe would sometimes join broadcasts together for both stations when Ava and Salem would play and I thought that was so cool. |

I did w baseball couple times so enjoyed doing games w him. Stan such a professional.

It's Rick I was talking about....and he's good he just has this Laugh that is movie esque mad scientist strange.
