Look, knowing Ava it’s far too early to count them out. Or can it be? I mean no offense. BUT does anyone think Mountain Grove can take it with Ava missing their STUD sophomore rusher? Can Liberty Mountain View sneak in and surprise? Injuries can change things between now and then. Just trying to keep this page hopping 🤓

I haven't changed my opinion. Here is my original prediction. The only change I might make right now is Houston might be above Thayer and on the same place as Cabool.
1. Liberty - skill positions are going to be a strength. Return a lot on OL. Should be able to move the ball on anyone. If the defense can be solid, they are going to have a really good year.
2. Grove - really good QB coming back. They will be a tough night for everyone.
3. Ava - lots of question marks for the Bears. New coach. But they do have a stud RB that should help with a lot of those question marks.
4. Cabool - bring back some solid kids. They will give the top teams in the conf a ball game.
5. Thayer - new coach, new team basically. But they have the history and mentality that can help them rebuild.
6. Houston - put these last 3 teams in a hat and they could finish in any order. I will put Houston at the top of this group with the consistent staff they bring back.
7. Salem - know nothing about them, but sounds like they return very little from a down year last year.
8. Willow - been a struggle in bear land. New coach. If Wyatt couldn't win with this group, I don't see much chance they find much success this year under the new guy.

Is this MVL team better then the 2020 team?

I would never count the usual top 4 out , that being said , this year I wouldn't count any team in the SCA out because of Liberty , Grove , Ava all in the same class for the playoffs this year . One or more teams can get hot in the playoffs and blow the others out of the waters .

I don't believe ws will be sucking hind tit. willow is much better an plays hard together. fly to the ball. I could an prob am but I see them winning few games 3-4. much better than scoreboard showed other night. plus refs hosed bears on 1 possibly 2 tds for blatant pass interference. I was impressed w bears good job.

Who will WS best to win 3-4 games? Even though WS appears improved is that enough to span the gulf of ability of the other SCA programs?

Just trying to keep this page hopping 🤓 Once Ava adjust to a new B back and the QB gets the timing down Ava Offense will start looking better. The offense was very sloppy and out of sync versus Strafford and that really stymied the whole scheme. Ava didn’t churn up real estate and keep the ball out of Strafford Big play WR offense and this led to the eventual loss. MV appears to be the class of the SCA at this point with Houston being the dark horse.

So that was a surprising performance. MVL had if they stay healthy, should be able to compete for that district. But it’s hard sometimes to beat teams twice in a season if they are competitive.

Fumbles. Penalties. Confusion. I will say their passing game did some things that was impressive especially in the 2nd half. But I dont see that happening against most of the SCA schedule. If they are going to get 3-4 wins they have to beat Cabool this week. So let's see how things go there.

Well, I’ll keep everyone updated on potential matchups. Seneca baring any injury would be the likely outcome for after district. I don’t see right now a better team. They look better this year, better than last year. They have WRs this year and a more experienced O line and D Line.

Had we not had those 5 turnovers its a different ballgame, maybe go into ot. Having said that they did happen and we didn't overcome them. Most impressed for me and some comet fans said too, our boys didn't quit. Yes I know it takes more than that to win ballgamesand there's plennnnty to work on.
Don't count Ava out just because of injury. The advantage for them is it's week 2 they got plenty of time to right the ship. My change for them would be to 3 with liberty/grove being sca title game.
Keep an eye on houston. Thayer Willow Cabool i believe can beat each other so who knows. I now think Salem finishes last. But we play the games to find out
With conference play starting we'll eventually separate the jeckyls from the hydes.

But there’s a lot of questions. And Hunter Adams answered 3-4 of them on the offensive side of the ball. Class 2 is small enough to have a RB like him and find some success and take some pressure off of other weapons. But it’s hard to believe IF 2-3 people don’t step up to see them overtake MVL or MG. Although while saying that? If any team faced these questions and lost their best player and overcome it? It would be Ava. I saw a lot of people outside the SCA hating on MVL this season. Two predicting heads like Ned out of Springfield had them going 4-5 this season. I think there’s quite a bit of athleticism currently in MVL

I watched the streaming of the game and Marionville was a much better team than The bears and forced 3 of those TO. In the second half the comets went ultra conservative substituted a lot and basically knelt on the goal line by just running the the RB as opposed to actually running the QB for the easy score. The comets could of in the second half made the game ugly. In 4qrts of play I saw 6 offensive plays that where well executed by WS. Dew I get that you are always overly optimistic but this is going to be a process and WS might be improved on the field and not improve in the Win Loss column. Thayer and Cabool are better teams than WS ….Salem has talent but only 4 seniors healthy so that game is a push.
