Willow at Stockton early 2000s- state playoffs - freezing rain and lightning during the whole thing. Stockton had a D1 running back going to Illinois (Tj Norman if I remember right). We had to get off the metal bleachers but they kept playing. And then the dang thing went into overtime. Bears win and play in a 60 degree game the next week Willow/Cabool has 3 others I can think of in extreme cold and one big flood that wasn't in the pit, was actually in Willow. All last games of the reg season.

Torrential downpour at Central right before halftime! Rain was coming down so hard the turf got an air buble under it causing a 4ft buble. They were about to knife the turf when the rain let up.

In '95 or '96 West Plains as still in the SCA playing on the hill at Ava. Temp was in the low to mid 30s. Wind was coming out of the north so strong that KY3's helicopter could not land. I'd say sustained 35-40mph gusting higher. Ava is backed up inside their 20 and have to punt. The punter's kick barely gets to the LoS and then comes right back to him. It literally hit the ground at is feet. I've always felt bad for that young man, but nothing he could do about it

At the Hill early 90's .... Ava and Grove had to share a sideline on the Locker room side it was so bad. Coach Sawyer for Ava was in short sleeves(crazy bastard) and got hypothermia before Half time and his speech was slurring and he was not real coherent in what he was saying. Coach Hutchison our HC From California was bundled up like a Eskimo with high dollar winter wear he was the only smart one and prepared. My feet was freezing(and they never get cold I walk in snow just fine that way) as I was standing on the West Sideline in MUD/WATER/FROZEN SLEET with the wind rolling about 30mph. So miserable but a epic look, if we all had Cell Phones back then it would of been a sight to behold.
Of course the HILL is a magnet for Horrible Weather I mean it's booger county no less.
Most crazy thing I saw was at Panther Stadium.... 1987 Grove Vs Principia....... Out of the Blue a lighting storm started No rain, wind, etc. A few flashes then a Bolt hit about Mid-Field every one took off running and then another bolt hit and sent players/officials flying, stand emptied and a lot of people went to the old high school for shelter. No fan player or official was hurt, but the Head Maintenance Man Bob Short was tasked with turning off the lights so he went down to do so and a Bolt hit the old Chain Link that ran around the field and jumped to him. He was OK but his Boys Swelled up like Bballs the next day.
Game was cancelled...

The weather wasn't real bad necessarily but my final game in HS with Liberty in 08 was against Schaffitzal and FG in FG. It was pissing rain the whole day and they had been working on a new stadium which left their old stadium in one hell of a mess to begin with. It was already a mud pit and just one step above a shallow pond. Then right before kickoff half of the stadium lights went out but the game moved on forward. My buddy back in high school had a basketball court that was lit by a flood light off his parents garage and it felt like were playing a state playoff game under that flood light. It was a FARCE. (And of course Liberty would have won if not for these appalling circumstances ) Second to that I watched probably the best team in Liberty history lose to Lamar at home when Lamar's best weapon was the nonstop 35 mph straight line winds.

I was there watching and the field looked Hollywood esque mud and low lighting for the big scene! I recall rumors that the game was going to be moved to Parkview’s turf.
The circumstances sure didn’t help MV at all let’s just say that if you get my drift.

The word in the locker room was we were one call away from getting it moved to Central, but instead I believe the GOAT had about 40 carries and 40 tackles and my hopes and dreams drowned in the mud.

That was probably Lamar's best team also. Except for Carl Junction, a very good Class 4 team, Lamar turboed every team they played that year, including Liberty, and also the Class 3 runnerup Seneca. They broke the state record for scoring and was within a few touchdowns of breaking the national record. They also broke the state record for rushing yardage with over 7,000 yards with two backs, Petersen and Beshore rushing for over 2500 yards each. Lamar's best weapon was that it was loaded with speed and size and was the better team.

The field and situation at FG was atrocious and should have never happened. But man that Schaffitzel was a stud.

I remebier that game {lamar vs Liberty and the high winds} craziest thing about that game were the guys in the bucket truck filming in that wind. they were swaying back and forth in the wind. Worst weather was Lamar vs Warsaw in districts in 2013. front came through, temp dropped, and played in driving rainstorm at about 40 degrees. we were ahead by 63-0 in the third quarter when the refs called the game because of "lightning". There was no lightning around, think he saw the flashing white light on top of the cell tower behind the stadium and called the game. Everyone was freezing and miserable, neither side complained, everyone was glad to get out of there.
