tough loss, when we led by 9 for most of the 4th quarter. Irish missed the game winning shot and grove gets called for a foul with 1.6 sec left. lost it on a free throw. Youtube camera missed it since it was in a blind spot corner. but seen a few parents on FB not happy with it.

I went to both the Thayer/Liberty and the Cabool/Van Buren games. I thought it was football season with all the beating and banging on each other Congrats to the Bulldogs on their first district title in 23 years.

A few kids on Thayers team was talking trash about their district competition in a interview. Rutledge and Pruitt made them pay when they came into the lane. Luckily for them the refs had Libertys bigs in foul trouble all game Saturday.

Sounds like they got called for the fouls they were committing lol

Here is a preview of the Cabool game from the facebook page I manage (Cabool Sports News)
CLASS 2 STATE PLAYOFFS SECTIONAL PREVIEW The Cabool Bulldogs make a return to the state playoffs for the first time since 2001. The 2001 squad defeated Eugene in a sectional game and then fell to Diamond by 4 points in the quarterfinals. The sectional game in 2001 was played on a neutral court in Rolla, hosted by Missouri S & T University. Tuesday nights match-up against the South Pemiscot Bulldogs will be the first home playoff game in the history of Cabool basketball. Let's start this preview by taking a look at South Pemiscot coached by Jordan McGowan. South Pemiscot High School is located in Steele, MO, just over a 3 hour drive southeast of Cabool. South Pemiscot plays in the Bootheel Athlectic Conference and are district champions from Class 2 district 1. South Pemiscot was seeded number 2 in that district and defeated Hayti 68-51 in the final. Both teams enter this sectional match with similar records as Cabool is now 17-11 and South Pemiscot is 15-9. Cabool and South Pemiscot do share two common opponents on the season, Van Buren and Eminence. South Pemiscot lost to Van Buren 78-73, and defeated Eminence 70-55. Cabool defeated Van Buren 60-45 in the district final and beat Eminence 48-45. A look inside the numbers reveals South Pemiscot likes to push the pace and scores on average 69 points per game while giving up 60 on defense. Cabool averages scoring 60 points per game and yields just 54 on defense. South Pemiscot has an intimidating presence inside with 6'4 Sophomore Jaterion Smith. A quick look at Smith's highlights show him blocking many a shot. South Pemiscot also has quick guards that turn up the tempo in transition. Cabool has the advantage of experience with an all senior led starting lineup. Senior Josh Shockley scored 22 points in the district championship game and is no stranger to tough competition, as he has played with and against elite players from all over during summer basketball leagues. Senior post player Tyler Fleetwood will have his work cut out for him in this game, but will receive plenty of help from his teammates. Fellow seniors Trey Atkins and Aceton Gonzales continue to be threats to score on any possession as well. Senior Will Tucker provides a solid defensive presence and Sophomore Brody Noirfalise provides a spark off the bench. Should head Coach Brad Shockley need to reach a little deeper on the bench he still has experience to turn to as well with two more seniors Jeff Gebeke and Koby Sigman along with Junior Carson Lindsey. The atmosphere in the Cabool High School gym for the district championship was electric. A large crowd was on hand supporting both schools. The Cabool fans were led by the CHS cheerleaders and pep club. The Cabool Booster Club has announced that student admission will be paid for students wanting to attend the sectional game and the pep club theme is "crazy". The Missouri State High School Activities Association requires online purchases of tickets to attend the sectional game. Ticket information is included in a separate post on Cabool Sports News. The sectional game will be covered live on KZ 88.1 FM radio and the school will provide a video stream for purchase on the MSHSAA TV app. This sportscaster would much rather have you in person at the game with your blue and white on, cheering the Cabool Bulldogs. This game is a historic event for Cabool Basketball and I encourage the entire community to get involved.

Was at Grove for the start of the Girls District Tournament:
No surprise Reeds Spring turbo clocked Buffalo (they should have been the 3 seed) A huge surprise in the second game as Hollister never trailed vs Ava.
