Willow played 4 quarters hard tonight, which is a first all year. We scored twice on the same drive but the zebra told our coach that we had 3 kids holding their safety at the same time when only 1 kid barely had an arm on him so we left the one yard line twice. We also got called for a delay of game with 10 seconds left on the play clock. We finally got that one overturned but it took a screaming coach to get it. We lost momentum after that crap, and Salem did stop us one other time at the goal line. We marched up and down the field with them just didnt get the final results we wanted.

You beat a team whos qb could barley roll to his right let alone walk and throw off balance passes and never run the ball and yet you get momentum from this win?Thayer would have won this game tonight. So, i take it you went to the Liberty/Grove game instead of the Thayer game? No,I watched it online. Why would I want to go watch Thayer play an 0-5 team?

I took your username to mean you were a Thayer fan. I was just curious about your original comment because you picked Grove to win not Liberty.

Big game for the Eagles tonight. Good to get some momentum as we move forward. Very impressed by the defensive play, and happy to hear that Jaris appears to continue to improve. Seems no mention of Libertys best defensive player being out when Thayer barely beat Liberty. But yet when Liberty drums Grove with their best player hurt you are all over it. Lol Liberty would have been 3-2 headed into last nights game with Smith playing all season.

Yesterday talked to an available friend about view and coach acklin. I mentioned their talent and IF they get it together they'll be dang good with one of the best coaches around. View brought it last night. Allot of things Grove should have done different. I agree with all the talk about Otwell. However, fumbles had nothing to do with injuries nor did the few terrible calls change the game. Do I still think Grove is better? Yes, but coaching and players being efficient are key. Congrats view

I Kno there is some things being said about the view-grove game. Keep in mind the coaching staff knows what's best for his team to get the win. After all they know these kids the best. Get behind the coaching staff and support them win, lose or draw.

willow springs has more moral victories than any team in the area. Nobody in our town has mentioned anything about any moral victory this year, but thanks for speaking for us anyways like we cant represent ourselves. Why dont you try going through the crap our kids have this year and see how it feels. They have made the decision to line up and play football regardless when many kids in other towns would have just walked out the door and stayed gone. And nobody from our town is saying things about people in other towns so buzz off

You have no idea how kids in other towns would have reacted. Your team had a coach resign in the summer. Lets not act like they had to go through a death or something really tough in life. So lets not overdramatize things.

Congrats view Both fumbles where somewhat related to his injuries, the first fumble he stumbled a bit and he fumbled do to balance issues probably related to his injury. The second fumble he appeared to pull out to quickly probably overcompensating for his diminished speed do to his injury. Now don't twist this, I had no issue with Carter starting or his unreal gutty performance. And I doubt the outcome would of been any different with the Back up. My point is his injury did relate to those fumbles.

Never said you could not have an opinion. But your opinion is very short sighted if you think there wouldnt be kids from every town in the SCA that would do the same things. The kids on your team are not special. They are kids playing a game. Your using their situation as an excuse for why they are struggling again this year. Newsflash the days of Coach Ary and Wyatt roaming the sidelines at Willow and you guys actually having a good football team are long gone and they are not coming back in the foreseeable future. You can come up with any and every excuse in the book and it is not going to change reality. Every year it is the same deal. You try to convince people that things are looking up, new coach, better numbers, great attitudes, then reality hits again and you look for moral victories. We are building. We are young. The zebras hurt us. Rinse, spit, and repeat.

I agree that our kids are not special and they are playing a game. I also agree that the Steve Ary hangover has lasted 13 straight years now and I am sick of it. Yes I have tried to convince people things are looking up and when things do start looking up some crappy thing happens like losing a coach. But I will not, I repeat will not give up on our kids. Not only do I try to encourage them on here, the willow facebook page, but I talk to many of them after a game and some of them during the week. Like anyone else I am encouraged at the beginning of the year and discouraged at the end. Our school needs to make many changes and said changes may finally be coming (this is the show-me state I want to see it before I believe...) on how our boys sports programs are run. But I have never used the term moral victory on this forum or the last one. You make it look like I am the only one who has ever used the terms young, bad officiating, numbers of kids, etc etc etc. When Liberty was 0-4 their people said they were young and just dont have what they did have, and we accepted it. So why cant I talk about my team like that? If you will also notice I am the only person in the last 10 years to talk high school sports from a town that has a struggling record. If I was like everyone else there wouldnt be anyone on here unless you was from Grove, Liberty or Thayer. I will talk about my team regardless of how they do and you can just live with it.
