See, that's what I'm confused about. Ava has hosted all 3 games, have they not? Lamar travels to Fair Grove, so they have hosted 1 less, meaning Ava would travel to Lamar, if I'm understanding it correctly.

Guess I took a wrong turn somewhere, thought this was a SCA Pickum thread.Guess I missed the part where it turned into a Lamar,Fairgrove who ever thinks FG will win is wrong. Hey any traffic and post are welcome sort of Happy the Lamar poster got things going for a bit. And I do disagree that I seem like a idiot....a person of low intellect...now if you want to say I'm a blunt arse hole who draws no quarter with his viewpoint well that is pretty spot on Low intellect, but yet was fully correct. Weird

Ignorance? I think I nailed my opinion. Oh well. People pick what they want, not what reason would dictate. Stay classy Lamar Pretty classless honestly. To state that, is to state there’s far more then one commenting objectively “not classy” things. Which is disingenuous. You know it, I know it. I’m really just being honest. It just hurts because for so many years it’s been true. I’ll ask again, are you ready for the same ole, same ole?

Another Lamar homer here. You are right. This is a different Lamar. This team improved over the course of the season as much as any Tiger team in recent years. Probably a little more speed and experience on last years team.
Defensively, we are playing a couple of freshmen in this years backfield, and a couple of sophomores at linebacker, all are very talented and will bring the leather, but still learning on the fly. The freshmen are two of the fastest players on the team and will be "studs" on both sides of the ball for the next three years.
On offense, the first half of the season, we were a "3 yards and a cloud of dust" type team. But over the 2nd half, the team has improved and is now a threat to score from anywhere on the field. The Ava vs Lamar game should be another battle just like the past two years.

Look, I really hate to be berating you. But that’s also terribly uneducated. By your logic, going undefeated is the only way to tell how good Lamar is. That if Lamar isn’t winning every game, they are down. Do you realize how remarkable is was a middle of enrollment for a class 2 school was winning, and winning big against a class 3-4 conference? Just because Lamar lost twice, and 4 times in total out of the past 20 something games doesn’t mean they are not on anywhere near the same level. You are showing a tendency to put personal hopes into this. Instead of logic. This is class 2 football now. Lathrop beat a worse then this year Lamar team? Care to guess when the last time a class 2 team beat Lamar? It’s been awhile. If Ava does it? Although I doubt it, they are a little down compared to last year. Yes I’ve watched them a few times, and have seen a majority of Lamar games. I would say it’s this year the SCA gets over the hump. But not looking likely. Not impossible, but not probable. Alright, I do believe I can speak logically about this. I see the Big 8 every week. I have seen Lamar, on video, four times this year. I can tell you without a doubt they are down. You can try to ignore it all you want but they are not at the same level they were while winning 7 straight. Now, that being said I do think they win this week. They are still very, very, good. I think that being "down" for Lamar is still a level that many teams in the state strive to get to. But if you put this Lamar team against some of those teams in the past decade, they get blown out. I agree with mofootball23 that Lamar's schedule is one of the toughest Class 2 schedules in the state. Lamar lost two games, early in the season, to two very good Class 3 teams. Both of those teams lost to Cassville in Class 3 districts, a team that Lamar manhandled in week 9 of the regular season.
And, by the way, Lathop was the last Class 2 school to beat Lamar. It was in the semifinal game last year at Lathrop 28-21.
I also agree with mosooner in that this years Tiger team is not on the same level as the teams that won seven straight championships. if I were to rate all of the recent Lamar teams, since 2009, this years team would be in the lower half. That's not saying that this years team is not good. But, a few of those teams could have won Class 3 and competed in the top 5 of Class 4. Even if Lamar is to go on and win the state championship this year, they do not compare to a few of those teams. But, guess what, after a "down year this year", next year should be on the upswing again.

Is mofootball23 an Ava fan that is trying to give the Bears a little extra incentive to come out all pumped up and take it to Lamar?
I remember a couple of years ago, Lamar came to Ava as a huge favorite and a long winning streak, but barely escaped with the victory. On the way to the game, I listened to the Ava Coach on the radio and he was building Lamar up to be some kind of unbeatable machine that Ava was lucky to be playing on the same field with. I guess it was his way of pumping up his team, because after Lamar jumped out to a somewhat comfortable lead, (I think 28-7), the Bears came storming back and had Lamar backpedaling. It was a game that even though Lamar held on to win, I came away from the game feeling as though they lost.
So, mofootball23, if you are a Lamar fan, it may be best to just let sleeping dogs, (Or Bears) lie. Every team still playing is capable of winning on any given Saturday. Ava is a team with a lot of heart. Lamar will have to match their intensity if they are going to advance.
