As far as the West Plains end of things I've said this before, just don't remember if on here - Any coach wanting wins would fit in there, that program is sitting on a nest egg. And I don't mean in talent and the fancy weight room and all (which, yes they do). They are in a conference that has only 3 schools that even believe in football. Every great now and then Waynesville and Rolla chime in but it's a Lebanon/Camdenton/WP conference for football for as long as the Springfield 5 don't show a care. So in a "bad" year the Zizzers will finish no lower than 3rd in that conference. Now having said that word on the street is that WP's feeder schools are cranky because of the tuition hikes they will now be paying WP (around 8,000 per student where Willow and Liberty are MUCH less, don't remember that #). They have talked about no longer co-oping with WP in the middle school levels which has been a HUGE lift to get WP going in football. We'll have that answer within a couple years and it may be possible that Richards, Jct Hill, and even Howell Valley & Fairview to a point may send more kids north and northeast than they have. I dont see Glenwood feeding Kosh and Bakersfield that much or a few more Fairview kids going to Dora but who knows. So will WP continue to have that nest egg or will it crack?? "Any coach wanting wins would fit there" Spoken like someone who hasn't watched a game out of the SCA in years. What happened pre-Ary? Go ahead and Google those years. What a joke of a statement. It's your way of feeling better about a coach getting out of an awful situation that is Willow football. And that probably isn't changing anytime soon because the community at-large doesn't care.

And we have a new member, more n likely from WP. Welcome! - I have been to MANY games including at WP and Mtn Home. I've been there for Perkins and Ary both. I've been there for Joyner a LONG time ago. Willow is a caring community. The bleachers haven't been empty even though we've struggled since Ary. Come north some time and see. Is the situation awful? That I won't argue with. Now with the point you highlighted - No the SCA hasn't exactly been stellar lately either but when is the last time any of the Springfield schools offered a challenge for a crown on a conistent basis? Glendale a few years ago maybe but after a couple graduations that ended. I just don't see how WP, Leb or Camdenton can finish any lower than 3rd in that conference unless things change in Springfield. And yes pre-Ary WP was a mess, a bad one. I went to a couple of those games as well (was there when the streaker ran during homecoming vs Parkview). But speaking of nowadays not a few years back ...

dew you bring up an interesting point. WP may not be the shiny toy that it appears right now for that much longer. I know some think another WP high school could be an option in the next few years. The Richards high school thing fell apart, but there could still be something of that nature that comes together with the tuition hikes. Definitely is something to keep an eye on.
This could be a good thing for Willow, maybe just maybe they can see the problem they have had is not one of having a good enough coach. But a much deeper problem
It is nice to see we have a member of the WP community with us now. Look forward to you joining in on things.

I have been to some SCA games. Even played in my share. I've been following this forum for the last 12 or so years and it seems as if you're misguided disdain for WP clouds your judgment of Willow Springs. I believe it was you that said "They always take Willow coaches" um, yes. Because it is a better job and community to work in. Lowe, Johnson, Heggemann, Perkins, Fris, Schwalm, and now Wyatt have all been held to a standard that the community fails to reach themselves. Funny how that works. It's always the loudest who have their opinion heard...

I think there is enough community support for the standing high school that things may not be quite as dire as they seem. I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again but if they play football, most parents want their kids at WP.

Do you understand why WP has raised their tuition prices so much in comparison with the other local schools? That has been something that never made sense to me since they clearly want those students in their system

Wow,that's gotta leave some bad feelings in town. That’s a bit of an understatement!!! Why? Wyatt is no spring chicken and taking on a massive rebuild with no player support was a long long process. He made the wise decision.

It can be a wise decision and one that does not go over well with town folks at the same time.
And 79 and Bobcat are correct. There are going to be many who are not happy with him. There is a lot of hate for West Plains that still resides in willow.

Not many know, or remember, but I'll drag a skeleton out of my closet - I am a former zizzer. I actually went to WP longer than I did Willow. I've lived in Howell County most of my life, I know the differences. The attitudes towards me by folks in both towns is what created the attitude I have now, and we'll leave it at that
