Really surprised there's been no talk about it here (I'm just as guilty). Willow is 5-7 with 2 seniors out for injury, 1 of which is done  the other we'll see. Good kids that play hard but definitely not what we had last year. I have only made it to 2 games myself. Been going some to watch my freshman niece who plays for the zi... ziz..... z... oh you know those people  |

Liberty just behind, them, but haven't beat a team with a winning record. rest of the conference is dreadful |

Grove's record is horrible.... they have played some competitive games against good teams(Sparta OT) but clearly don't know how to seal the deal and get a win. Might of been wise to start the season with a less loaded schedule.... Hartville, Fair Grove, Strafford, Mansfield, Clever Tournament, Blue and Gold, and not being that talented and playing that many teams who are just better is a recipe for a long losing season.

Thayer went to Grove and got the win 67-35. Not bad for a team with no seniors and a cupcake schedule. lol

Does Thayer have a cupcake schedule I hadn't heard that or seen anyone on here say that might of missed it though? Grove and Thayer should of switched then. We need to learn how to win and not face the meat grinder from the get go. Really winning a lot of games was never in the cards per say for Grove this season, but playing what we have appears to have taken the wind out of the teams sails.

There is a reason the rest of the SCA teams are playing teams to our East, when vast majority of our our to our west in the Springfield Metro. Blue and GOld is locked in, should never leave that. had Seymour Tournament not been days after it, I actually liked that Tournament most years. If we took off a few of our tall task early season games The Clever Tourney to start season isn't an issue also. but IMO we cant do both |

We should of weakened our schedule years ago..... the last time we won a district we started off losing like 8 or 9 games before we hit the Seymour tourney and got on a roll. After that we have been really really average and that is being kind.

ws got beat up by a Gainesville team that wasn't any better in my opinion difference was ther was a lid on our basket ws had good shots all night but couldn't get anything to fall. need a mean presence inside for sure to get rebounds! one time down floor I believe Gainesville shot an missed 7 or 8 times an got rebound everytime.

I grabbed these records of MSHSAA, and didn't work up the conference standings (can do when I get more time). These may not be 100% but it does show we're struggling as a conference this year ....

Don't think it just the SCA. Yes, its a rough year, especially on the guys side. Some teams that are normally pretty good just dont have the horses. But, that being said, I think basketball, as a whole, is down in this part of the state. Not nearly as many stand out teams

Thayer beat Strafford 76-52 in the first round of the Bolivar Liberator tournament.
