So, what is it about this years team thatt helped propel Ava to an undefeated regular season? Horrible competition. Liberty was a self imploding turnover machine that couldn't tackle and the rest of the sca was pretty bad also. I believe this will be by far the poorest competition that Lamar has faced in the quarters ever.

Tigers leading the Bears 14-6 at the half. Ava gets the ball to start the 2nd half!

Any confirmed scores updates on this? I'm hearing Lamar 28 Ava 22 in the 4th Q. Must be a heckuva game!

I have to eat some crow on this game. Ava did a great job tackling and their line matched up to Lamar fairly well. Ava also seemed to have more speed on the field than Lamar. The curse of playing on the Hill might have been a factor for Ava?
The officiating did seem anti lamar? They had 6 or 7 holding penalties to ava's one.

Lamar lost a key player for the game, and Ava is better than I thought. Lamar will have to play better, and play inspired. I think we defend what North does best.

I'll repeat Ava is a top team in the state. Hard fought game but they weren't quite good enough. Not a surprising result at all, congrats to Lamar and congrats to Ava you were the best the SCA had to offer this year. But, like has been the case for nearly a decade no one in the SCA has the horses to defeat Lamar and just like Liberty has for the past few years Ava falls at home in a defacto state title game.
I think LN will give Lamar a great game but not enough, then what ever poor soul waits in COMO is gonna get hosed.

Ava played their butts off..coaches gave them a great game plan..just ran out of time..ava was by far the best team in the SCA this year and it showed..gave Lamar everything they could handle...congrats on a great year and great job representing the SCA...

Hats off to Ava. I was clearly wrong about how good they are. Before we call that the state title game lets see what Lutheran North has for Lamar. They got a ton of athletes, and with the injury bug things could be interesting. But no doubt whoever wins Lamar and LN game is the state champ

Hats off to Ava! You DEFINITELY made our boys really earn every yard and every point scored! It is something about the SCA conference (Mt View-Liberty, Ava) that is always a thorn in our side. Liberty (now Ava) have given Lamar some of the toughest games we have had the past 6-7yrs (thats including the semi-finals and championship games)

Other than the injury we had.....Lamar did not at all play their best football today! The boys kinda were playin like they had their heads up their butts about something! Quite unusual.
Thats no excuse though. Ava was a dang good team. The Bears dont have anything to be ashamed of or to hang their head about!

He only has a sprain, could be severe enough to miss the Lutheran game. But would def be available for state. If Lamar gets there. I’d say he will be limited.

Dude Ava will be lucky to score on the JV they won’t score 14. Oh really? What now? Ava, you boys played amazing! The coaches had you right on track but there just wasn't enough time on the clock to win, otherwise, I believe you would have if there was at least another 40 seconds to 1 minute left. I am proud that View and Ava have given Lamar their best games in the past 6 - 7 years. Let's keep getting back to the quarters and bump heads with them. Someone is bound to knock them off in the future. I'm not against Lamar, I tend to root for them most of the time and hope they crush Lutheran North. I will say that Lamar better get their heads out of their butts and create fewer penalties because LN will eat that up.

Ava’s seniors made it a heck of a game. And Lutheran commits way more turnovers and penalties than Lamar does. The SCA might beat Lamar if Ava didn’t graduate everyone. The SCA will be down next year. Congrats on the season AVA.

Just like to say congratulations to Lamar on a well played game. Everyone on both teams showed up to play. What a great game to watch and good group of people. A class act in every way. Good luck as you move on and wish you the best of luck as you move towards another championship.
